Cadenazzo
Cadenazzo is a municipality in the district of Bellinzona, in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland. On 13 March 2005 the formerly independent municipality of Robasacco was absorbed into Cadenazzo. History Cadenazzo is first mentioned in 1335 as ''Catenacii'', when the ''hospitallis de Cadenazio'' was mentioned. The existence of a medieval castle is in doubt. The collegiate church of San Pietro in Bellinzona owned part of the village by 1438. The chapel of S. Pietro Martire in Cadenazzo may have been built in the 13th Century, but the earliest mention of the chapel is from 1363. However, the chapel has not survived into the modern era and its location is unknown. In 1442, Cadenazzo separated from the mother church of Bellinzona joined the parish of the neighboring village of S. Antonino. They remained part of a joint parish until 1830. Agriculture, once dominant, but not very profitable, is still common in the Magadino valley. Crop yields increased after the correction ...

Giubiasco–Locarno Railway
The Giubiasco–Locarno railway is a railway in Switzerland. It was built by the Gotthard Railway Company (''Gotthardbahn-Gesellschaft'', GB) on 20 December 1874 as part of the line through the Ticino valley. With the nationalisation of the Gotthard Railway on 1 May 1909, the line became part of the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB). History After the foundation of the Gotthard Railway Company in December 1871, construction of the Gotthard Railway began in 1872. The construction of the valley floors in the Canton of Ticino progressed considerably faster than the complicated main line in the Alpine region. The concession for the Gotthard Railway included in Sopraceneri, among other things, a branch line through the Magadino plain to Locarno, which was completed after a short construction period at the end of 1874. The Biasca–Bellinzona section was opened on 6 December 1874 and the opening of the Bellinzona–Giubiasco–Cadenazzo–Locarno section through the ...

PostBus Switzerland
PostAuto Switzerland, PostBus Ltd. (known as in Swiss Standard German (), in Swiss French (), in Swiss Italian (), and in Romansh () is a subsidiary company of the Swiss Post, which provides regional and rural bus services throughout Switzerland, and also in France, Germany, and Liechtenstein. The Swiss PostAuto service evolved as a motorized successor to the stagecoaches that previously carried passengers and mail in Switzerland, with the Swiss postal service providing postbus services carrying both passengers and mail. Although this combination had been self-evident in the past, the needs of each diverged towards the end of the twentieth century, when the conveyance of parcels was progressively separated from public transportation. This split became official with the conversion of PostAuto into a separate subsidiary of the Swiss Post in February 2005. The buses operated by PostAuto are a Swiss icon, with a distinctive yellow livery and three-tone horn. The company uses ...
