''Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga'' is a role-playing video game developed by AlphaDream and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy Advance in 2003. It was re-released for the Wii U's Virtual Console in 2014, and video game remake, remade for the Nintendo 3DS as ''Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions'' in 2017. In the game, Mario and Luigi travel to the Beanbean Kingdom in order to combat Cackletta and Fawful, who stole Princess Peach's voice for the purpose of harnessing the power of a special artifact called the Beanstar. This game is the third role-playing game in the ''Mario'' franchise after ''Super Mario RPG'' and ''Paper Mario (video game), Paper Mario''. Fawful, known in Japan as , is a fictional character appearing in the ''Mario & Luigi'' series of role-playing video games developed by AlphaDream, serving as the secondary antagonist of ''Superstar Saga'' and the main antagonist of ''Bowser's Inside Story''. Fawful's dialogue was localized in English-speaking countries to parody the poorly translated English prevalent in early video games; it is schizophasic in nature, rife with non sequiturs.
