Cachureos
''Cachureos'' (Chilean Spanish for ''odds and ends'') was a Chilean television program created in 1983 by Marcelo Hernández. Show Cachureos is like a game show where the host, "Tío Marcelo", gives prizes to the kids who win the competitions. Tío Marcelo interacted with people in animal costumes who entertained the children. Marcelo was known for his catchphrase which he would exclaim to the children, "''¡El grito, el grito, el grito!''" (Spanish for "The scream, the scream, the scream!"). Broadcast The show was transmitted by TVN between 1983 and 1998, and became very successful. Canal 13 is a Chilean free-to-air television channel. It was launched on 21 August 1959, on VHF channel 2 of Santiago, in a broadcast led by a group of engineers from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. Subsequently, the TV station moved its frequency to VHF channel 13, which gave rise to its current name. In its beginnings, one of its most important milestones was the broadcast of the 1962 FIFA World Cup, held in Chile. Owned by the Andrónico Luksic Craig, Luksic Group, Canal 13 is the second oldest television station in Chile. Cueca () is a family of musical styles and associated dances from Chile, Argentina, and Bolivia. In Chile, the cueca holds the status of national dance, where it was officially declared as such by the Pinochet dictatorship on September 18, 1979. Origins While cueca's origins are not clearly defined, it is considered to have mostly European Spanish and arguably indigenous influences.
