Chinese Professional Baseball League All-Star Game
The CPBL All-Star Game (), alternatively known as Red v. White All-Star Game (), is an annual baseball game held by the Chinese Professional Baseball League of Taiwan. The teams are organized along the geographic dispositions of the member organizations; the red team is made up of players from Lamigo Monkeys of Taoyuan City, Taoyuan and EDA Rhinos of Kaohsiung, while the white team consists of players from Brother Elephants of Taipei and Uni-President 7-Eleven Lions of Tainan. Between 1990 and 1992, the locations of the All-Star Game were fixed at Taipei, Taichung, and Kaohsiung, with one game at each location annually. The regulation was amended and currently there is only one game each year with location varies from year to year. There is also a Home Run Derby the day before the All-Star Game. Peng Cheng-min
Peng Cheng-min, (; born 6 August 1978 in Kaoshiung, Taiwan), is a Taiwanese former baseball player and baseball coach who previously played right fielder, first base and designated hitter for the CTBC Brothers of the Chinese Professional Baseball League from 2001 to 2019. Career During the 2001–02 seasons he was designated hitter for the team, as he was picked 1st overall in the 2001 draft. Starting in 2003, he began his four-season tenure in right field after adjusting to the role. However, in the middle of the 2006 season Brother Elephants released then first baseman Tsai Feng-an (蔡豐安) and Peng switched to play first base, late in his career, he also played as an occasional designated hitter. Andrew Campbell (outfielder)
Andrew Thomas Campbell (born 18 February 1992), nicknamed Soupy, is an Australians, Australian professional baseball player for the Mannheim Tornados of the Bundesliga (baseball), Baseball Bundesliga and the Brisbane Bandits of the Australian Baseball League (ABL). Campbell has played in all Australian Baseball League seasons for Brisbane. Career An Ipswich Musketeers junior and senior player, Campbell represented Queensland at various Australia National Youth Championships before making his professional debut with the Brisbane Bandits in the team's first game 11 November 2010 as a defensive replacement. Yang Yao-hsun
Yang Yao-hsun (; born 22 January 1983 in Taitung City, Taiwan) is a former Taiwanese professional baseball pitcher and outfielder for the Fubon Guardians of the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL). He spent the majority of his career in Nippon Professional Baseball as a pitcher for the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks. Career Yang played for the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks of Nippon Professional Baseball from 2006 until 2013 before expressing his desire to sign in America because of his MLB dream. On 13 February 2014 he signed a minor league deal with an invite to Spring training with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Yi-Chuan Lin ( zh, 林益全; born 11 November 1985) is a Taiwanese baseball infielder for the Uni-President Lions of the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL). He has previously played in the CPBL for the Fubon Guardians. He was the first position player to be named Rookie of the Year and MVP in the Chinese Professional Baseball League the same year. Rakuten Monkeys
The Rakuten Monkeys (), formerly First Financial Holdings Agan (, abbreviated ), La New Bears () and then the Lamigo Monkeys (), are a professional baseball team in the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) in Taiwan. Owned and administered by the Kaohsiung-based shoe-producing La New Corporation and then the Japan-based electronic commerce and online retailing company Rakuten, the Monkeys qualified for the playoffs in 2006 for the first time in team history, and by finishing with the best record for the whole season, gained an automatic berth in the Taiwan Series. The team played their home games at Chengcing Lake Baseball Field in Kaohsiung County (now part of Kaohsiung City) from 2004 to 2010. Tilson Manuel Brito Jiménez (born May 28, 1972 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) is a Dominican former professional baseball third baseman. He played Major League Baseball, KBO League baseball, and Chinese Professional Baseball League baseball. Brito played parts of two seasons in Major League Baseball with the Toronto Blue Jays and the Oakland Athletics, last appearing in the major leagues in 1997. The dmedia T-REX (米迪亞暴龍) was a professional baseball team belonging to the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL). History The history of the team can be traced back to early 2001, when local Macoto Bank started to sponsor Taiwan Major League's (TML) Taipei Gida, taking over from the original sponsor Sampo Corporation. After TML's merger with CPBL in early 2003, Macoto Bank decided to run one of the 2 absorbed TML teams and the new team Macoto Gida (誠泰太陽) was formed accordingly along with its sister team First Financial Holdings Agan. During the merger draft Macoto Bank picked the bulk of Macoto Gida's players from Taichung Agan and Chiayi-Tainan Luka, but not the original Taipei Gida. Macoto Bank went on running and changed the team's mascot to animal-style cobras following CPBL's regulations in early 2004.
