CMAS Europe
CMAS Europe (CMAS EU) is an organisation created expressly to represent the interests of Confédération Mondiale des Activités Subaquatiques (CMAS) within the European Union and in other parts of Europe by European national diving federations affiliated to CMAS. Purpose and organisation Its purpose is to promote, support, develop and as necessary, defend the following interests of CMAS within the European Union and in other parts of Europe - the CMAS International Diver Training Certification System, underwater sports represented by CMAS, the actions of the CMAS Scientific Committee concerning the protection of both the marine environment and underwater cultural heritage, and all other events relevant to CMAS’ aims. Fédération Française D'Études Et De Sports Sous-Marins
The (FFESSM) is a French sports federation specialized in recreational and competition underwater sports, like scuba diving and freediving. It is the main diver training organization in France. The historical ancestor of the federation was created in 1948 under the name "Federation of societies for underwater fishing and swimming", and merged in 1955 with the "French federation of underwater activities" to become the current organization. It is one of the founding members of the Confédération Mondiale des Activités Subaquatiques (CMAS, World Confederation of Underwater Activities) created in 1959. The Spanish Federation of Underwater Activities (, FEDAS) is the governing body in the field of Spanish aquatic sports. As of 2022, the federation has 895 registered clubs and 32,289 federated athlets. It is a voting member of the Confédération Mondiale des Activités Subaquatiques (CMAS) . The Nederlandse Onderwatersport Bond, (NOB) is the national governing body for recreational diving and underwater sports in the Netherlands. It was founded in 1962. In 2008 there were 290 scuba diving clubs and schools with a total of 20.000 members. The NOB is a member of CMAS ''Confédération Mondiale des Activités Subaquatiques''. British Underwater Sports Association
British Underwater Sports Association (BUSA) is the British affiliate of the Sports Committee of Confédération Mondiale des Activités Subaquatiques (CMAS). It was created in 1997 to fill the vacancy on the CMAS Sport Committee for the United Kingdom caused by the expulsion of the British Sub-Aqua Club from CMAS in order to ensure ongoing access to international competition offered by CMAS for British underwater sports teams. Its members include the British Finswimming Association, British Octopush Association and British Spearfishing Association. Its role is exclusively one of representation of British underwater sports at the international level. The Sub-Aqua Association or SAA is a diver training organization for scubadivers in the United Kingdom. The SAA and other UK-based diving groups have traditionally used a club-based system with unpaid instructors, while other training agencies organise most of their training programs through professional instructors and dive shops. The European Underwater Federation (EUF) is an umbrella organisation representing the interests of scuba diver training organisations operating in both the not for profit and for profit sectors within Europe.
