CKNO-FM (102.3 FM, ''102.3 Now! Radio'') is a radio station in Edmonton. Owned by the Jim Pattison Group, it broadcasts a hot adult contemporary format. As of Feb 28, 2021, CKNO is the number one-listened-to radio station in the Edmonton market according to a PPM data report released by Numeris. History The station received approval by the CRTC on October 17, 2008, and officially launched on February 23, 2010. On July 10, 2014, Rawlco announced the sale of CKNO and sister station CIUP to the Jim Pattison Group. Since the acquisition, Pattison has also extended the ''Now!'' format and branding (which carries a focus on topical discussions) to sister stations in Winnipeg and Vancouver. CKCE-FM in Calgary also uses a similar format, but as ''Today Radio''. Signage of the station’s old logo can be found at one of the parking lots at the Edmonton International Airport. CKPK-FM (102.7 FM, ''102.7 Now! Radio'') is a radio station in Vancouver, British Columbia. Owned by Pattison Media, it broadcasts an adult contemporary format. Its studios are located on West 8th Avenue in the Fairview neighbourhood of Vancouver, while its transmitter is located atop Mount Seymour. The station first signed on with an experimental license in 1923 as CFXC, and was renamed CJOR in 1926. It moved to its long-time home of 600 AM in 1930. CJOR operated as the Vancouver affiliate of the CBC's Dominion Network from 1944 through the network's closure in 1962. It was later acquired by Jim Pattison after the death of its previous owner George Clarke Chandler. CIUP-FM (99.3 FM, ''Up! 99.3'') is a radio station in Edmonton, Alberta. Owned by the Jim Pattison Group, it broadcasts an adult hits format. History The station received approval by the CRTC in July 2005 and was launched in September of that year for on-air testing. The station officially debuted on December 8, 2005 at 2 PM as CHMC-FM with a smooth jazz format branded as ''Magic 99''. Magic's first song was Michael Bublé's '' Sway''. On October 19, 2010, the station dropped its smooth jazz format, in favor of its current adult hits format as ''Up! 99.3'', and adopted its current callsign. The first song on "Up!" was " Don't Stop" by Fleetwood Mac. The launch was simulcasted on Global TV.
