CISO-FM is a Canadian radio station, which broadcasts a modern rock format at 89.1 MHz in Orillia, Ontario. The station is branded as ''89.1 Max FM''. History Owned by Bayshore Broadcasting, the station received CRTC approval on June 1, 2009. The station launched in late 2010 as an adult contemporary format branded as ''Sunshine 89.1''. On November 1, 2018, CISO-FM rebranded to ''89.1 Max FM'' with a classic hits format playing the best of the 70's, 80's and 90's. On May 17, 2019, the station changed its format to modern rock but retained its "Max FM" branding. CHGB-FM is a Canadian radio station of a classic hits music format at 97.7 FM in Wasaga Beach, Ontario. The station uses the on-air brand name ''97.7 Max FM''. History The station was licensed by the CRTC in 2006 following a failed application in 2005, and began regular broadcasting on May 18, 2007. CHGB is owned by Bayshore Broadcasting. In 2007, CHGB-FM began testing over the air on April 5 at 97.7 MHz. The station signed on the air on May 18, 2007 at 7:00 PM as ''97.7 The Beach''. From 1938 to 1992, the call sign CHGB was used by Radio Lapocatière, CHGB AM 1310 in La Pocatière, Quebec. On April 23, 1992 at 7am, CHGB AM move to 97.5 FM and changed its call sign to CHOX-FM. CHGB does target the signal area with newcomer sister station CISO-FM in Orillia, which airs an adult contemporary format. Orillia
Orillia is a city in Ontario, Canada. It is in Simcoe County between Lake Couchiching and Lake Simcoe. Although it is geographically located within Simcoe County, the city is a single-tier municipality. It is part of the Huronia region of Central Ontario. The population in 2021 was 33,411. It was incorporated as a village in 1867, but the history of what is today the City of Orillia dates back at least several thousand years.
