CICF-FM
CICF-FM (105.7 MHz) is a Canadian radio station in Vernon, British Columbia with a country format branded on-air as ''105.7 The Ranch''. The station is owned by Vista Radio. The station began broadcasting on October 23, 1978 at 1050 kHz as CKAL. In 1981, CKAL added FM transmitters to rebroadcast the programming of CKAL in Nakusp, New Denver, and Kaslo, while another one was added to Armstrong/ Enderby on 89.7 MHz in 1986. CKAL became CICF in 1987. The rebroadcasters CICF-FM-2 New Denver and CICF-FM-3 Kaslo were granted to change their programming source from CICF to CKKC in Nelson in 1990, and CICF-FM-1 Nakusp was shut down in 1997 and taken over by CKKC. The "CKAL" calls are now used by a television station in Calgary, Alberta. On November 28, 2001, CICF moved to FM band at 105.7 MHz, and became hot adult contemporary station ''Sun FM''. Pure Country is a Canadian radio network, that airs on stations owned by Bell Media. Launched in 2019 as a unifying branding for all of the company's country-formatted stations across Canada, the network broadcasts on nine stations nationwide, as well as on selected digital subchannels of radio stations in markets where the company offers digital radio service but does not have a country-formatted primary station. Programming Weekday programming on the network consists of local hosts at each station in morning and afternoon drive, a national midday program hosted by Roo Phelps, and the syndicated ''The Bobby Bones Show'' in the evening. Vista Radio Ltd. (also formerly known as Vista Broadcast Group) is a Courtenay, British Columbia-based media company. Owned by Westerkirk Capital, Vista is the second-largest owner of radio stations in Canada. The company only owned stations in British Columbia until 2007, when it expanded outside the province by acquiring an existing station in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories and launching a new one in Grande Prairie, Alberta. With its acquisition of Haliburton Broadcasting Group, the company expanded into Ontario in 2012. In 2025, the company acquired 21 additional British Columbia stations from Bell Media. Astral Media Inc. was a Canadian media conglomerate. It was Canada's largest radio broadcaster, with 84 radio stations in eight provinces. Astral was also a major player in premium and specialty television in Canada, with 23 specialty channels and two conventional stations. In addition, Astral had a presence in out-of-home advertising. In March 2012, Bell Media announced its intent to acquire Astral for $3.38 billion. Although an attempt to purchase the entirety of the company was blocked under competition law, the CRTC approved a revised offer on June 27, 2013, which saw various Astral specialty channels and radio stations divested to competitors. CKKC-FM is a Canadian radio station that broadcasts a classic hits format at 106.9 FM in Nelson, British Columbia. The station is owned by Vista Radio and is branded as ''106.9 Summit''. The station's programming is produced partly from its own studios, and from its sister station CJAT-FM in Trail. The station was launched in 1939 by the ''Nelson Daily News'' on AM as CKLN, it adopted its current call sign in 1967 and moved to the FM band in 2006. Standard Radio
Slaight Communications is a Canadian radio broadcasting company. The company was formed as Slaight Broadcasting in 1971, when owner J. Allan Slaight acquired CFGM in Richmond Hill. Slaight later also acquired CFOX in Montreal and CHOK in Sarnia, and launched CILQ in Toronto. The company later sold off all of its original assets, and continued to operate its radio holdings through the Standard Broadcasting division after Slaight bought out that company in 1985. As Standard, it remained the largest privately owned multimedia company in Canada until it sold its radio and TV broadcasting assets to Astral Media in 2007.
