CICF-4-FM
CICF-FM is a Canadian radio station broadcasting at 105.7 FM in Vernon, British Columbia with a country format branded on-air as '' Pure Country 105.7''. The station is owned by Bell Media. The station began broadcasting on October 23, 1978 at 1050 kHz as CKAL. In 1981, CKAL added FM transmitters to rebroadcast the programming of CKAL in Nakusp, New Denver, and Kaslo, while another one was added to Armstrong/ Enderby on 89.7 MHz in 1986. CKAL became CICF in 1987. The rebroadcasters CICF-FM-2 New Denver and CICF-FM-3 Kaslo were granted to change their programming source from CICF to CKKC in Nelson in 1990, and CICF-FM-1 Nakusp was shut down in 1997 and taken over by CKKC. The "CKAL" calls are now used by a television station in Calgary, Alberta. On November 28, 2001, CICF moved to FM band at 105.7 MHz, and became hot adult contemporary station ''Sun FM''. Kaslo, British Columbia
Kaslo is a village on the west shore of Kootenay Lake in the West Kootenay region of southeastern British Columbia. A member municipality of the Central Kootenay Regional District, the name derives from the adjacent Kaslo River. At 2016, the population was 968, and the idyllic village is regarded at the "Little Switzerland of Canada." Thousands of years before the arrival of European settlers on Kootenay Lake, indigenous nations made this country their home. Two nations, the Kutenai (Ktunaxa) and Lakes (Sinixt) lived a semi-nomadic existence, using their intimate knowledge of the land to follow its seasonal cycles for root harvesting, berry picking, fishing and hunting. Astral Media
Astral Media Inc. was a Canadian media conglomerate. It was Canada's largest radio broadcaster, with 84 radio stations in eight provinces. Astral was also a major player in premium and specialty television in Canada, with 23 specialty channels and two conventional stations. In addition, Astral had a presence in out-of-home advertising. In March 2012, Bell Media announced its intent to acquire Astral for $3.38 billion. Although an attempt to purchase the entirety of the company was blocked under competition law, the CRTC approved a revised offer on June 27, 2013, which saw various Astral specialty channels and radio stations divested to competitors. The sale was consummated on July 5, 2013. Astral was dissolved later the same year as a result of Bell Media completing its acquisition of the company. CKAL-DT (channel 5) is a television station in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, part of the Citytv network. It is owned and operated by Rogers Sports & Media alongside Omni Television station CJCO-DT (channel 38). CKKC-FM is a Canadian radio station that broadcasts an adult hits format at 106.9 FM in Nelson, British Columbia. The station is owned by Bell Media and is branded as ''Bounce Radio Nelson''. The station's programming is produced partly from its own studios, and from its sister station CJAT-FM in Trail. The station was launched in 1939 by the ''Nelson Daily News'' on AM as CKLN, it adopted its current call sign in 1967 and moved to the FM band in 2006. As CKLN, the station was a CBC Radio affiliate until the 1960s.
