CFU Club Championship 2004
The 2004 Caribbean Football Union Club Championship was an international club football competition held in the Caribbean to determine the region's qualifier to the CONCACAF Champions' Cup. The 2004 edition included eight teams from six football associations, contested on a two-legged basis. Even though two teams from Trinidad and Tobago contested the 2003 final, only one team was entered in the 2004 tournament, as compared to two from Jamaica. The inclusion of teams from Saint Martin and Montserrat and not from other Caribbean countries was never explained. The first round included one of the great mismatches in international club history, as Harbour View FC of Jamaica slammed Ideal of Montserrat, 30–1 on aggregate. In an all-Jamaican final, Jomo Gordon scored in stoppage time of the second leg to give Harbour View FC a 3–2 aggregate win over Tivoli Gardens FC, thereby advancing to the 2005 CONCACAF Champions' Cup. CFU Club Championship
The Caribbean Club Championship, also known as the CFU Club Championship or CFU Club Champions' Cup, was an annual international football competition held amongst association football clubs that are members of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU). The Caribbean Club Championship served as a qualifying event for the CONCACAF Champions League tournament. The tournament was officially the Flow CONCACAF Caribbean Club Championship for sponsorship reasons from 2018 to 2022. With the expansion of the CONCACAF Champions League starting from the 2024 edition, the 2022 edition of the Caribbean Club Championship was the last held. Instead, a regional cup tournament will be launched as a qualifying tournament of the CONCACAF Champions League for teams from the Caribbean, besides those which qualify directly through their professional leagues. Jermaine "Jerry" Hue (born 15 June 1978 in Morant Bay, St Thomas, Jamaica) is a retired professional football midfielder who formerly played for Harbour View and the Jamaica national football team. Club career Hue started his playing career for Jamaica National Premier League Harbour View, with whom he won the 2004–2005 National Premier League Championship. Luton George Kieshawn Shelton (11 November 1985 – 22 January 2021) was a Jamaican professional footballer who played as a striker or winger. At the time of his death, he was the top scorer for the Jamaican national football team with 35 goals. He is also the only men's football player to score four goals in his international debut (2004). Akeem Sayeed Priestley (born 13 April 1985) is a Jamaican professional footballer who plays for Canadian club Master's Futbol as a winger.
