Club Esportiu Mediterrani is a sports club founded in 1931 by a group of sports enthusiasts in particular Swimming, who frequented the beach of Barceloneta and the swimming baths located in the delightful seaside neighborhood of Barcelona. They practice several sports, but mainly swimming and water polo. The men's team enjoyed its peak between 1992 and 1994. División De Honor De Waterpolo
The Spanish water polo championship has been contested since 1912. The current league format was introduced in 1965. The top division is currently known as the División de Honor and consists of twelve clubs. The current champions (2021–22 season) are CN Atlètic-Barceloneta from Barcelona. Competition Format The División de Honor season takes place between October and May, with every team playing each other home and away for a total of 22 matches. Points are awarded according to the following: *3 points for a win *1 points for a draw The team with the highest number of points at the end of 22 rounds of matches become champions. Promotion and relegation The bottom team in the standings at the end of the season is relegated to Primera División, while the top team from Primera División is promoted. It is actually contested by ten teams. Competition Format The División de Honor season takes place between October and May, with every team playing each other home and away for a total of 22 matches. Swimming is an individual or team racing sport that requires the use of one's entire body to move through water. The sport takes place in pools or open water (e.g., in a sea or lake). La Barceloneta () is a neighborhood in the Ciutat Vella district of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. The neighborhood was constructed during the 18th century for the residents of the Ribera neighborhood who had been displaced by the construction of the Ciutadella of Barcelona.
