CD Diocesano
Club Deportivo Diocesano is a football team based in Cáceres, in the autonomous community of Extremadura. Founded in 1965, it plays in Tercera División RFEF – Group 14, holding home matches at the '' Campo de la Federación'', with a capacity of 4,000 people. History Founded in 1965 by Obispo D. Manuel Llopis, as a sporting section of the ''Colegio Diocesano de Cáceres'', the club later started to sign players who were not inscribed in the school. Initially focused in youth football, the club played four seasons as a senior between 1992 and 1996 before returning to youth football. In 2011, Diocesano merged with ACD Ciudad de Cáceres, taking their seat in the ''Regional Preferente''. In 2017, the club achieved promotion to Tercera División for the first time ever. 2019–20 Tercera División
The 2019–20 Tercera División is the fourth tier of Spanish football. It began in August 2019 and was supposed to end in late June 2020 with the promotion play-off finals. On 11 March 2020, the season was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Spain. On 6 May 2020, the Royal Spanish Football Federation announced the premature end of the leagues, revoking all relegations and planning an eventual promotion playoff to be played if possible. Manuel Sánchez Delgado (born 17 January 1965), known as Manolo, is a Spanish retired footballer who played as a striker. Over nine seasons, he amassed La Liga totals of 292 matches and 96 goals, mainly with Atlético Madrid with whom he won two major titles. He also competed at that level with Murcia. The 2021–22 Tercera División RFEF season will be the first for the national fifth level in the Spanish football league system. The league has 18 groups like the former fourth tier Tercera División. 2020–21 Tercera División
The 2020–21 Tercera División was the last for this league as the fourth tier of Spanish football. It began in October 2020 and ended in June 2021 with the second phase and promotion play-off final in the Canarian group. Because the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) suspended the previous season on 11 March 2020 at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in Spain, the RFEF announced on 6 May the termination of that season, the revocation of all relegations from the Segunda División B, Segunda B and Tercera divisions, and the expansion of both leagues.
