CAW National Council 4000
Unifor National Council 4000 is the umbrella organization for five regionally based Unifor Local Unions across Canada that represent more than 5,060 members in various sectors, largely within the railway and transportation industry. It is the largest rail Local within Unifor. Prior to the launch of Unifor during the 2013 Labour Day weekend in Toronto with the merger of the Canadian Auto Workers and Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union of Canada, Communications, Energy and Paperworkers unions, National Council 4000 was affiliated with the Canadian Auto Workers, CAW and known as CAW National Council 4000. Port Elgin, Ontario
Port Elgin is a community in Bruce County, Ontario, Canada. Its location is in the traditional territory of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation. Originally named Normanton the town was renamed Port Elgin when it was incorporated in 1874, after James Bruce, 8th Earl of Elgin, a former Governor General of the Province of Canada. Although road signs indicate the name Port Elgin, it is no longer an entity, per se. In 1998, the Town of Southampton, the Town of Port Elgin and Saugeen Township were amalgamated to form the Town of Port Elgin-Saugeen-Southampton. The Nova Scotia Federation of Labour (NSFL) is the Nova Scotia provincial trade union federation of the Canadian Labour Congress. It was founded in 1956, and has a membership of 70,000 members up to May 2017 when that grew to 80,000 members when the Nova Scotia teachers union joined. Its conventions are held every two years, normally in October. There is also an off year conference between conventions. The majority of the labour unions in the province are affiliated to the NSFL with some notable exceptions such as the Nova Scotia Union of Public and Private Employees. Discovery Centre is an interactive science museum in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
