The CAFA Championship is an international football competition in Central Asia for the member nations of the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA). History The inaugural edition of the tournament was planned to be hosted by Tashkent in October 2018. It was not played out though. Central Asian Football Association
The Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) is an association of the football playing nations in Central Asia. In June 2014, the association was in principle approved by the Asian Football Confederation and approved at the Extraordinary Congress in January 2015 during the 2015 AFC Asian Cup. As a result, CAFA will in the future be able to have member(s) on the AFC executive committee. The formation of CAFA was spearheaded by the Iranian Football Federation following disputes with West Asian Football Federation members. It was reported that AFC President Salman Bin Ibrahim Al-Khalifa gained politically from the creation of the new zone. Tashkent

2022 CAFA Women's Championship
The 2022 CAFA Women's Championship was the second edition of the CAFA Women's Championship, the quadrennial international women's football championship organised by the CAFA for the women's national teams of Central Asia. The tournament was hosted by Tajikistan. All but Afghanistan entered the tournament as the team's participation was impossible under the Taliban rule. with Turkmenistan making its debut in the tournament. Uzbekistan were the defending champions, having won their first title in 2018. They managed to retain the title undefeated. Hosts Tajikistan finished last losing three games and drawing one against the debutant Turkmenistan who finished fourth with one point apart from their Tajik counterpart. AFF Championship
The ASEAN Football Federation Championship (less formally the AFF Championship or AFF Cup), currently known as the AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup for sponsorship reason, is the primary association football tournament organized by the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF). A biennial international association football competition, it is contested by the men's national teams of the AFF to determe the sub-continental champion of Southeast Asia.
