C.M. Washington High School
C.M. Washington High School was a primary and secondary school for black people in Thibodaux, Louisiana, United States. A part of Lafourche Parish Public Schools, it was the only K-12 school in Lafourche Parish for black people, and it had the first high school program for black people in Thibodaux. Black schools, also referred to as "colored" schools, were racially segregated schools in the United States that originated after the American Civil War and Reconstruction era. Thibodaux High School (THS) is a public high school serving students in grades 9–12 in Thibodaux, Louisiana, United States about 75 miles southwest of New Orleans. It is one of three high schools in the Lafourche Parish Public Schools. It serves: Thibodaux, Ward 6 (including Chackbay and Choctaw), and Kraemer (a.k.a. Bayou Boeuf).
