The 2023–24 NHL season is the 107th season of operation (106th season of play) of the National Hockey League (NHL). The regular season began on October 10, 2023, and will end on April 18, 2024. The Stanley Cup playoffs are then planned to begin shortly afterwards, ending with the Stanley Cup Finals in June. Preseason games in Australia The NHL held games in Australia for the first time in league history. 2023 NHL Entry Draft
The 2023 NHL Entry Draft will be the 61st NHL Entry Draft. The draft is expected to be held on June 28–29, 2023, at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. Eligibility Ice hockey players born between January 1, 2003, and September 15, 2005, are eligible for selection in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft. Additionally, un-drafted, non-North American players born in 2002 are eligible for the draft; and those players who were drafted in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, but not signed by an NHL team and who were born after June 30, 2003, are also eligible to re-enter the draft. Colorado Avalanche
The Colorado Avalanche (colloquially known as the Avs) are a professional ice hockey team based in Denver. Greg Cronin
Greg Cronin (born June 2, 1963) is an American professional ice hockey coach and current head coach of the Colorado Eagles of the AHL. Prior to joining the Eagles in 2018, Cronin held coaching positions with the New York Islanders and Toronto Maple Leafs of the NHL, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the AHL, and Colorado College, the University of Maine, and Northeastern University of the NCAA. Dallas Franklin Eakins (''né'' Yoder; February 27, 1967) is an American professional ice hockey coach and former player. He is the head coach of the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League (NHL). He previously served as the head coach of the Edmonton Oilers of the NHL. Early years Eakins' mother, Carol Ploof, was a native of Macon, Georgia. NHL Outdoor Games
The National Hockey League (NHL) first held a regular season outdoor ice hockey game in 2003, and since 2008 the league has scheduled at least one per year. The NHL primarily uses three brands for outdoor games: the Heritage Classic, Winter Classic, and Stadium Series. The 2003 Heritage Classic between the Edmonton Oilers and Montreal Canadiens was the first outdoor regular season game in NHL history. The Heritage Classic has since been held infrequently, featuring match-ups solely between Canadian teams, until the Buffalo Sabres make their appearance in the 2022 Heritage Classic. 2023–24 Arizona Coyotes Season
The 2023–24 Arizona Coyotes season is the 45th season for the National Hockey League (NHL) franchise that was established on June 22, 1979, the 28th season since the franchise relocated from Winnipeg following the 1995–96 season, and the 52nd overall season, including the World Hockey Association (WHA) years.
