Hajdar Muneka (20 March 1954 – 6 May 2022) was an Albanian journalist and diplomat. Education Hajdar Muneka received a Chinese language degree from the Beijing Language and Culture University, Beijing, China. He also had a master's degree in Journalism, University of Tirana, Albania. Career Starting in 1979, Hajdar Muneka served as journalist covering European Affairs at Albanian Radio Television, Radio Televizioni Shqiptar, in Tirana. Muneka began his diplomatic career in 1991, when he became a Desk Officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Albania and latter First Secretary of the Embassy of Albania in Beijing, China. In 1997, he was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Albania in Beijing, China. Luan Starova
Luan Arif Starova ( mk, Луан Ариф Старова; 14 August 1941 – 24 February 2022) was an Albanian writer who lived in North Macedonia. He published his works both in Albanian and in Macedonian. He is translated in over 20 languages around the world. Biography Luan Starova was born in Pogradec, an Albanian town on Lake Ohrid, in 1941. His family had legal and scholarly background: his grandfather on the father's side had served as an Ottoman qadi in Prilep, before retiring and emigrating to Turkey; his father earned a law degree in Istanbul, and was a lawyer and a scholar. Bardhyl Londo
Bardhyl Londo (1948 – 18 February 2022) was an Albanian poet and writer. Life and career Born in Albania, Bardhyl graduated in Albanian language and Albanian literature at the University of Tirana. After graduation, he taught for several years in schools in the Përmet District, then started working as an editor in the literary magazine Drita (Light). He made his debut as a poet with a book of poems published in 1975. He was one of the most popular lyrical poets in Albania in the 1980s. He was the author of eight poems and several novels. In 1989, he was awarded the Migjeni writers prize. In the 1990s, he headed the Albanian Union of Writers and Artists. Robert Jashari (2 February 1938 – 22 January 2022), also known as Bert Jashari, was an Albanian football player, who played for Partizani Tirana and the Albania national team. He won the National Championship six times between 1957 and 1964 with Partizani Tirana and he was the top goalscorer in the National Championship in three consecutive seasons between 1962 and 1965, with 18, 9 and 14 goals respectively. He scored a total of 69 league goals for Partizani. Playing career Club Born in Tirana, Jashari was raised by his mother after his father died when he was only 3 years old. His mother remarried an Italian man, who later was allowed to leave communist Albania for Italy. Ramazan Rragami
Ramazan Rragami (3 April 1944 – 15 January 2022) was an Albanian football player and coach. He played for the Albania national team and for Vllaznia Shkodër, becoming one of the club's most notable players of all time. He became a member of The Disciplinary Committee affiliated with The Albanian Football Federation. Club career Ramazan Rragami had a brilliant career as a player as well as a coach in the national and international arena. He started playing in his native town, Vllaznia, at the age of 16. He continued there until 1967 when he was recruited by the Partizani team of Tirana and played there until 1970. He returned to Vllaznia in 1970 and, in 1972, won both the league title and League Cup. Bujar Nishani
Bujar Nishani (; 29 September 1966 – 28 May 2022) was an Albanian politician. He served as President of Albania from 24 July 2012 to 24 July 2017. Nishani was the youngest person to have been chosen as president of Albania, taking office at the age of 45. Before his election as president, Nishani held a number of governmental and diplomatic positions. Namely, he served as Minister of Internal Affairs from 2007 to 2009, and again between 2011 and 2012, as well as Minister of Justice from 2009 to 2011.
