Grenada ( ; Grenadian Creole French: ) is an island country in the West Indies in the Caribbean Sea at the southern end of the Grenadines island chain. Dame Cécile Ellen Fleurette La Grenade, (born 30 December 1952) is a Grenadian food scientist who has served as Governor-General of Grenada since 7 May 2013. Early life La Grenade was born in La Borie, located in Saint George Parish, Grenada. She is the third of five daughters born to Allan A. La Grenade , a civil servant, and Sibyl Sylvester-La Grenade, a registered nurse. Her maternal grandmother, Mary Louise "Eva" Ollivierre-Sylvester, was the first woman in the British Windward Islands to serve on the legislative council of her country, after being elected in 1952, less than a year after universal suffrage. Keith Claudius Mitchell (born 12 November 1946) is a Grenadian politician who served as Prime Minister of Grenada from 1995 to 2008 and from 2013 to 2022. He is the longest-serving Prime Minister in Grenadian history, holding the office for more than 22 years. He is currently leader of the New National Party (NNP) and has been the Leader of the Opposition in the House of Representatives of Grenada from 2008 to 2013, and again since 2022. Despite lockdowns and social distancing protocols, it appeared to have reached the level of community spread within one month. The 2019–20 GFA Premier League was the 36th season of the GFA Premier League, the top division football competition in Grenada. Instead of a normal league competition, a cup competition, branded as the 2020 GFA Club Championship was played.
