2018–19 ABL Season
The 2018–19 ABL season was the ninth season of competition of the ASEAN Basketball League. The regular season started on 16 November 2018 and ended on 28 March 2019. Teams All the teams in 2017–18 season returned for this season. However, the following changes happened: # Chong Son Kung Fu relocated and rebranded to Macau Black Bears. # Zhuhai Wolf Warriors was the 10th team in the ABL, added after Kung Fu relocated to Macau. Venues Personnel Imports The following is the list of imports, which had played for their respective teams at least once. Each team can register 3 imports. Flags indicate the citizenship/s the player holds. Local Heritage Regular season Each team will play 26 games throughout the season, 13 at home and 13 away. ASEAN Basketball League
The ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) is a professional men's basketball league in Southeast Asia and Hong Kong/Macau, which includes six teams from Southeast Asian nations (Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam), one team from Hong Kong, and one team from Macau. The league was proposed in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and launched its inaugural season on 1 October 2009. Mono Vampire
The Mono Vampire Basketball Club () is a Thai basketball team that previously played in the ASEAN Basketball League. They have also participated at the Thailand Basketball League. It is owned by Mono Group, a Thai media and technology conglomerate. Established in 2014, the Vampires finished third at the Thailand Basketball League and the Thailand Basketball Super League in their first season. In 2015, the Vampires won the Thailand Basketball League title. On the same year, the Vampires joined the ASEAN Basketball League but failed to perform. The Vampires withdrew from the ABL mid-season after the 2019–20 season was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Wan Chai
Wan Chai is situated at the western part of the Wan Chai District on the northern shore of Hong Kong Island, in Hong Kong. Its other boundaries are Canal Road, Hong Kong, Canal Road to the east, Arsenal Street to the west and Bowen Road to the south. Changhua County
Changhua County (Mandarin Pinyin: ''Zhānghuà Xiàn''; Wade-Giles: ''Chang¹-hua⁴ Hsien⁴''; Hokkien POJ: ''Chiang-hòa-koān'' or ''Chiong-hòa-koān'') is the smallest county on the main island of Taiwan by area, and the fourth smallest in the country. Changhua
Changhua (Hokkien POJ: ''Chiong-hòa'' or ''Chiang-hòa''), officially known as Changhua City, is a county-administered city and the county seat of Changhua County in Taiwan Province of the Republic of China. For many centuries the site was home to a settlement of Babuza people, a coastal tribe of Taiwanese aborigines. Changhua city is ranked first by population among county-administered cities. It is part of the Taichung–Changhua metropolitan area, which is the second largest in Taiwan. Zhuhai Wolf Warriors
The Wolf Warriors also known as the Macau Wolf Warriors is a professional basketball club in the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) based in Macau. The team was formerly based Zhuhai and was known as Zhuhai Wolf Warriors. History The then Zhuhai Wolf Warriors entered ABL in August 2018. The Warriors are claimed to be the first professional team based in Zhuhai city in Guangdong, China in any sports. The team relocated in Macau before the start of the 2019–20 ABL season. The Eastern basketball team (), is a professional men's basketball team of the Eastern Sports Club. The team also known as and Hong Kong Eastern for sponsorship reason. The team competes in the Hong Kong A1 Division and the ASEAN Basketball League since 2016. History Eastern basketball team is a section of Eastern Sports Club (officially known as Eastern Athletic Association Football Team Limited). In 2015 season the team won and promoted to 2016 Hong Kong A1 Division Championship. The team became fully professional in 2016. Macau Black Bears
The Macau Black Bears () are a Macanese professional basketball team competing in the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL). History Chong Son Kung Fu was a Chinese basketball team playing in the ASEAN Basketball League. Based in Nanhai District, Foshan, Guangdong, the team plays their home games at the 4,000-seated Nanhai Gymnasium. They joined ABL from 2017–18 season as the "Nanhai Long Lions". They changed their name to Nanhai Kung Fu to differentiate themselves from their mother team, the Guanzhou Long Lions. After they partnered with Macau's Grupo Desportivo Chong Son they changed their name once again to their present name by November 2017. After the 2018 season, the team relocated to Macau to become the Macau Black Bears, in a bid to promote professional basketball in the city.
