2017 German Masters
The 2017 German Masters (officially the 2017 F66.com German Masters) was a professional ranking snooker tournament that took place between 1–5 February 2017 at the Tempodrom in Berlin, Germany. It was the twelfth ranking event of the 2016/2017 season. Martin Gould was the defending champion but he lost 2–6 against Ali Carter in the semi-finals. Tom Ford made the 128th official maximum break and the third of his career in the second frame of his 5–2 win over Peter Ebdon in the first round. Maximum breaks had already been made in the qualifying rounds by both Ali Carter and Ross Muir. Anthony Hamilton defeated Carter 9–6 to capture his first ranking title in his 26-year career, having trailed 2–5. At the age of 45, he also became the oldest ranking event winner since Doug Mountjoy was 46 winning the Classic in 1989. The PSA Group (), legally known as Peugeot S.A. (Peugeot Société Anonyme, trading as Groupe PSA; formerly known as PSA Peugeot Citroën from 1991 to 2016) was a French multinational automotive manufacturing company which produced automobiles and motorcycles under the Peugeot, Citroën, DS, Opel and Vauxhall brands. Leipzig Book Fair
The Leipzig Book Fair (german: Leipziger Buchmesse) is the second largest book fair in Germany after the Frankfurt Book Fair. The fair takes place annually over four days at the Leipzig Trade Fairground in the northern part of Leipzig, Saxony. It is the first large trade meeting of the year and as such it plays an important role in the market and is often where new publications are first presented. History The Leipzig Fair has its origins in the 15th century. The Leipzig Book Fair became the largest book fair in Germany in 1632 when it topped the fair in Frankfurt am Main in the number of books presented; Frankfurt featured 100 books, compared to Leipzig's 700 that year. The success and importance of the fair is linked to the emergence of a vibrant publishing industry in the city. ITB Berlin
The ITB Berlin (Internationale Tourismus-Börse Berlin) is the world's largest tourism trade fair. The companies represented at the fair include hotels, tourist boards, tour operators, system providers, airlines and car rental companies. The ITB Berlin takes place annually in March at the Messe Berlin. The fair always has an official partner country, in 2018 (March 7–11) represented by the German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. In 2020 the ITB Berlin did not take place. Due to the rapid spread of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) the Federal Ministry of Health and the Federal Ministry of Economics have stated their opinion that ITB Berlin be cancelled. CeBIT
CeBIT was the largest and most internationally representative computer expo. The trade fair was held each year on the Hanover fairground, the world's largest fairground, in Hanover, Germany. In its day, it was considered a barometer of current trends and a measure of the state of the art in information technology. It was organized by Deutsche Messe AG. With an exhibition area of roughly and a peak attendance of 850,000 visitors during the dot-com boom, it was larger both in area and attendance than its Asian counterpart COMPUTEX and its no-longer held American equivalent COMDEX. An indirect presidential election (officially the 16th Federal Convention) was held on 12 February 2017 to elect the 12th President of Germany, President of Germany. Incumbent President Joachim Gauck announced on 6 June 2016 that he would not stand for re-election, citing his advancing age.
