2017 Meistriliiga
The 2017 Meistriliiga (known as A. Le Coq Premium Liiga for sponsorship reasons) was the 27th season of the Meistriliiga, the top Estonian league for association football clubs, since its establishment in 1992. The season began on 3 March 2017 and concluded on 4 November 2017. FCI Tallinn began the season as defending champions of the 2016 season. Flora won their 11th Meistriliiga title following a 2–0 home win over Tammeka on 28 October 2017. Teams A total of 10 teams contested the league, including 8 teams from the 2016 season. Tarvas were relegated after a winless season. Their spot was taken by Esiliiga champions Tulevik, making an immediate return after their 2015 relegation. In the relegation play-off Pärnu Linnameeskond successfully defended their league spot by defeating challengers Maardu Linnameeskond, but on 11 January 2017 Pärnu Linnameeskond, a union of football clubs from Pärnu, broke up. Siim Luts
Siim Luts (born 12 March 1989) is an Estonian professional footballer who plays as a left winger for Paide Linnameeskond. Club career Flora Luts began playing football at Flora youth academy in Paide. He made his Flora – and Meistriliiga – debut on 4 October 2008, coming on as a 72nd-minute substitute for Sergei Mošnikov in a 1–1 draw against Tallinna Kalev at A. Le Coq Arena. Luts scored his first Meistriliiga goal on 1 November 2008, in a 4–2 home win over TVMK. In July 2009, he joined Tulevik on loan until the end of the season. Robin Lod (; born 17 April 1993) is a Finnish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Major League Soccer club Minnesota United and the Finland national team. Lod was born in Helsinki, Finland. He began his senior club career playing for Klubi 04, before making his league debut for HJK at age 18 in 2011. After winning his first trophy, the Veikkausliiga, during his second season on league level, he helped HJK win three successive Veikkausliiga titles, Cup and League Cup. Pyry Soiri (born 22 September 1994) is a Finnish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Romanian Liga I side Universitatea Craiova, and the Finland national team. Born in Ekenäs, Finland, to a Finnish mother, Iina Soiri, and a Namibian father, he spent most of his childhood in Africa. He holds both Finnish and Namibian citizenships. Club career Early career Purje began playing football at Tallinna Jalgpallikool, where he was coached by Aivar Tiidus. He made his senior league debut in the IV liiga with SC Real in 2001.
