Relegation Red Berets and Mahakama, were relegated to the Nationwide League for the following season, but the former disbanded due to immense pressure from its sponsors to produce good performances. Nationwide League At the end of the 2010 season, Bandari and Congo JMJ United gained promotion to the Premier League for the following season. Domestic cups FKL Cup Sofapaka beat West Kenya Sugar 2–0 in the final to lift the title for the second time their history. 2010 Kenyan Premier League
The 2010 Kenyan Premier League was the seventh season of the Kenyan Premier League since it started in 2003 and the forty-seventh season of top division football in Kenya since 1963. It began on 20 February with Mahakama and Sony Sugar and ended on 14 November with Nairobi City Stars and Gor Mahia. Sofapaka had previously won the title but Ulinzi Stars finished top. Sofapaka still won the 2010 Kenyan Super Cup after defeating 12-time champions A.F.C. Leopards. After staying in the league for an entire decade, Red Berets, who were only two points behind KCB when they were relegated along with previously promoted Mahakama, disbanded to immense pressure from its sponsors to produce good performances. The two teams had replaced Bandari and Agrochemical, the former gaining promotion once again for the next season. 2009 Kenyan Premier League
The 2009 Kenyan Premier League was the sixth season of the Kenyan Premier League since it started in 2003 and the forty-sixth season of top division Association football, football in Kenya since 1963. It began on 7 February with Agrochemical F.C., Agrochemical and Red Berets F.C., Red Berets and ended on 21 November with Sony Sugar F.C., Sony Sugar and Western Stima F.C., Western Stima. Sofapaka F.C., Sofapaka had an alarmingly remarkable season, having just been promoted from the Kenyan Nationwide League, Nationwide League for the first time and immediately winning the title. They also won the Kenyan Super Cup 2010 Kenyan Super Cup, the following season. Bandari F.C. (Kenya), Bandari and Agrochemical F.C., Agrochemical were relegated at the end of the season after replacing previously relegated Mahakama F.C., Mahakama and Mathare Youth F.C., Mathare Youth. Homos (footballer)
Mohamed Soliman Zaki ( ar, محمد سليمان زكي) (born 1 January 1979) commonly known as Mohamed Homos ( ar, محمد حمص) or simply Homos ( ar, حمص), is an Egyptian former professional footballer. A midfielder, he played for Ismaily for most of his career. Career With the Egyptian national team played in the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup, he scored his first ever and only international goal from a header in Egypt's second game of the group stage against Italy, giving the reigning African champions a 1–0 win over the reigning world champions. Nyayo National Stadium
Nyayo National Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Nairobi, Kenya. It is located at the square of Mombasa Road, Langata Road and the Aerodrome Road. It is approximately two kilometers from the City Center, directly opposite Nairobi Mega Mall, formerly known as Nakumatt Mega. The stadium was built in 1983 for a capacity of 15,000. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The popular AFC Leopards football club plays most of its home games at Nyayo stadium.
