The following is a list of events relating to television in Ireland from 2007. Events January *January – RTÉ announces plans to launch a channel with the working title of RTÉ International, designed to offer programmes from RTÉ One, RTÉ Two and TG4. *1 January – US comedy drama series ''Ugly Betty'' begins on RTÉ Two. *10 January – Scottish Media Group and Belfast-based UTV agree the details of a merger, including a revised share split between the two. UTV will own 54% of the group, while SMG will take the remaining 46%. However, the deal is once again rejected at the end of February. Television In Ireland
Television in the Republic of Ireland is available through a variety of platforms. The digital terrestrial television service is known as Saorview and is the primary source of broadcast television since analogue transmissions ended on 24 October 2012. Digital satellite (from Sky Ireland, Saorsat and other European satellite service providers are available) and digital cable (from Virgin Media Ireland) are also widely used. The Irish satellite fill-in service (Saorsat) is via Ka-Sat using the Irish KA band spot and has been available since June 2011. While many people receive their television via Saorview, which is broadcast by 2RN, more than half subscribe to multichannel television networks. The biggest single multichannel television network in Ireland is Sky Ireland, which broadcasts digital satellite television services. Class Of The Titans
''Class of the Titans'' is a Television in Canada, Canadian animated television series produced by Studio B Productions and Nelvana, Nelvana Limited. It premiered on December 31, 2005, at 5 pm ET/PT on Teletoon with a special 90-minute presentation of the first three episodes. The series aired in the United States on Qubo from September 19, 2009, to October 24, 2009. On April 1, 2012, the series returned to Qubo as part of its Qubo Night Owl block replacing "Spliced (TV series), Spliced" where it remained until July 25, 2020. The series was released on DVD. The first three episodes were released on February 19, 2008, as ''Chaos'' and includes a behind-the-scenes featurette. The second DVD, ''Trojan Horse'', was released on May 20, 2008, and contains episodes 4–6. "Class of the Titans: Vol. 1 Season 1" was released November 18, 2008 and contains episodes 1–13. Horseland (TV Series)
''Horseland'' is an American animated series produced by DIC Entertainment, DIC Entertainment Corporation. It is a comic mischief program following events in the lives of a group of children riding at Horseland, an equestrianism, equestrian school and stables. Their adventures include riding their horses and entering them in competitions to test their skill and friendships. The show premiered on September 16, 2006, as part of CBS's new Saturday morning cartoon block, ''KOL Secret Slumber Party on CBS'' later ''KEWLopolis'' (now ''Cookie Jar TV''). Concurrent with the series, the online virtual pet game that it was Horseland, based upon was updated to complement the show by launching a new "Junior version" of the game based on the program and featuring its various characters and locations. Loonatics Unleashed
''Loonatics Unleashed'' is an American Superhero fiction, superhero animated television series produced by Warner Bros. Animation that ran on Kids' WB for two seasons from 2005 to 2007 in the United States. The series was based/inspired on the ''Looney Tunes'' cartoon characters, with the series described by Warner Bros. as an "action-comedy". ''Loonatics Unleashed'' is meant to be a mixture of the ''Looney Tunes'' shorts' irreverent style of humor and a modern action animated series, with the characters designed in a more action cartoon-inspired style. Unlike previous ''Looney Tunes''-related shows, ''Loonatics Unleashed'' has a darker tone and takes place in a post-apocalyptic setting. It follows multiple minor story arcs. (or merely ''Coconut Fred'' or ''CFFSI'') is a Canadian-American short-lived flash-animated television series created by Sammy Oriti and Don Oriolo that premiered on Kids' WB on September 17, 2005, and ended on May 27, 2006, with a total of 13 episodes and 25 segments. ''Firehouse Tales'' is an American animated children's television series created by Sidney J. Bailey, produced by Warner Bros. Animation as the only original series for Cartoon Network's now-defunct Tickle-U preschool programming block. The series follows three anthropomorphic fire engines who attend firefighting school. Its time on air coincided with the premierships of Brian Cowen and Enda Kenny, bookended by the conclusion of Bertie Ahern's premiership and the initial weeks of Leo Varadkar's. ''Xposé'' is an entertainment, fashion and beauty programme that aired on Irish television from 2007 to 2019. It was broadcast every Friday at 18:00 on Virgin Media One. It ran for a 3-day week at 20:00 on Virgin Media Two (previously known as "3e"). It originally aired weekdays for 30 minutes, with advertising; later it broadcast for 60 minutes, with advertising. The Once A Week Show
''The Once a Week Show with Dustin and Sinéad from Sinéad's House Where Dustin Likes to Hang'' is a television chat/comedy show, broadcast on RTÉ Two in 2007 and 2008. A successor to the more frequently aired ''Dustin's Daily News'', it was presented by Dustin the Turkey of ''The Den'', with his assistant Sinéad Ni Churnain as a co-presenter. More or less exactly the same as the previous show, only with a studio instead of a newsroom, plus the reduced daily to weekly frequency of the show. ''The Trump Card'' is a game show that was broadcast on RTÉ One during the summer months of 2007 as a seasonal replacement for ''Winning Streak''. Launched as the successor to ''Fame and Fortune'' (1996–2006), ''The Trump Card'' had its prize money funded by the National Lottery and its production costs paid by RTÉ. Laura Woods presented.
