Georges Prosper Remi (; 22 May 1907 – 3 March 1983), known by the pen name Hergé (; ), from the French pronunciation of his reversed initials ''RG'', was a Belgian cartoonist. He is best known for creating ''The Adventures of Tintin'', the series of Franco-Belgian comics#Formats, comic albums which are considered one of the most popular European comics of the 20th century. He was also responsible for two other well-known series, ''Quick & Flupke'' (1930–1940) and ''The Adventures of Jo, Zette and Jocko'' (1936–1957). His works were executed in his distinct ''ligne claire'' drawing style. Johan Weyts
Johan Weyts (9 June 1939 – 20 May 2021) was a Belgian Christian Democrat politician who sat in the Belgian Senate from 1987 to 1999. Born in Mechelen, Weyts had a doctorate in law from Ghent University. He was a member of Bruges city council from 1971 to 1995, when he was first elected to the senate for the Arrondissement of Bruges. His parliamentary questions mostly related to finance, transport and fisheries. He was also a member of the Vlaamse Raad from 1988, and sat in the Flemish Parliament from 1999 to 2004. Philippe Moureaux
Philippe Moureaux (12 April 1939 – 15 December 2018) was a Belgian politician, senator, mayor of Molenbeek-Saint-Jean, and professor of economic history at the Université Libre de Bruxelles. He held the honorary title of Minister of State and was a member of the Order of Leopold II and the Order of Leopold. Minister His first government post was a Minister of the Interior and Institutional Reform in the government of Wilfried Martens (Martens III) in 1980. Moureaux's name was attached to the ( Law against Racism and Xenophobia) of 30 July 1981 as he was then serving as Minister of Justice. ''The Palace of Memories'' (french: Le palais des souvenirs) is a painting in oil on canvas, 46.2 × 38.2 cm, created in 1939 by Belgian surrealist artist René Magritte. It is held in a private collection. In ''The Palace of Memories'', René Magritte plunges the viewer into a scene of infinite mystery: underneath and beyond a theatre curtain is a vast, rocky landscape of crags stretching into the distance. Looking like a crater filled with lava and dominating that vista is a rock formation that resembles Magritte's images of chopped trees which would emerge in 1951 in ''The Work of Alexander''. Jacob Lodewijk Gerard, Baron Walschap (Londerzeel-St. Jozef, 9 July 1898 – Antwerp, 25 October 1989), was a Belgian writer.
