1912 In Paraguayan Football
The following article presents a summary of the 1912 association football season in Paraguay. First Division The Paraguayan first division championship was played for the "Copa El Diario", a trophy issued by the newspaper of the same name. Four teams participated in the tournament which was played in a two-round all-play-all system, being the team with the most points at the end of the two rounds the champion. Club Olimpia won its first championship in history. Guaraní and Mbiguá were given permission to not participate in the tournament without being relegated. Second Division The Paraguayan second division tournament was not played in 1912. However, a new team was admitted to the first division the following year: the newly found club Cerro Porteño. They got promoted to the first division by winning a four-team promotion tournament in early 1913, played between Cerro Porteño, Club 10 de Agosto, El Porvenir and River Plate Asunción. Club Presidente Hayes
Club Presidente Hayes is a Paraguayan football (soccer) club from Tacumbú, a section of Asunción, Paraguay. The club is also known colloquially by its nicknames The Yankees (''Los Yanquis'') and The Little Star (''La Estrellita''). They play regularly in Asuncion's Kiko Reyes Stadium (''Estadio Kiko Reyes'') as part of the Paraguayan Soccer League (''Asociacion Paraguaya de Futbol''). RSSSF
The Rec.Sport.Soccer Statistics Foundation (RSSSF) is an international organization dedicated to collecting statistics about association football. The foundation aims to build an exhaustive archive of football-related information from around the world. History This enterprise, according to its founders, was created in January 1994 by three regulars of the Rec.Sport.Soccer (RSS) Usenet newsgroup: Lars Aarhus, Kent Hedlundh, and Karel Stokkermans. Atlántida Sport Club
Atlántida Sport Club is a Paraguayan football club from the neighbourhood of Obrero, in Asunción. The club was founded on December 23, 1906 and plays in the Primera División B Metropolitana of the Tercera División since the 2013 season. Their home games are played at the Estadio Flaviano Díaz. The club has been playing in the lower divisions of the Paraguayan league for several decades and their most notable achievements are the three second-place finishes they achieved when they were playing in the first division. Club Libertad
Club Libertad is a professional association football, football club based in Asunción, Paraguay that currently plays in the Paraguayan Primera División. The club plays its home games at Estadio Tigo La Huerta; which holds 10,100 people. Founded in 1905, Libertad is the third most successful Paraguayan football club, winning 22 national titles, only behind rivals Club Olimpia, Olimpia and Cerro Porteño. Club Cerro Porteño is a professional Paraguayan football club, based in the neighbourhood of Obrero in Asunción. Club Sol de América is a Paraguayan sports club, mostly known for its football team. The club is located in Barrio Obrero, Paraguay, and it was founded in 1909.
