Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is an emergency procedure consisting of chest compressions often combined with artificial ventilation in an effort to manually preserve intact brain function until further measures are taken to restore spontaneous blood circulation and breathing in a person who is in cardiac arrest. It is recommended in those who are unresponsive with no breathing or abnormal breathing, for example, agonal respirations. CPR involves chest compressions for adults between and deep and at a rate of at least 100 to 120 per minute. The rescuer may also provide artificial ventilation by either exhaling air into the subject's mouth or nose (mouth-to-mouth resuscitation) or using a device that pushes air into the subject's lungs (mechanical ventilation). Det Centrale Personregister (CPR; kl, Inunnik Qitiusumik Nalunaarsuiffik, en, Civil Registration System) is the Realm of Denmark's nationwide civil registry. Established in 1968, the registry contains the name, address, Danish personal identification number, date and place of birth, citizenship and other information on all the state's citizens and residents. Virtually every government agency in the Realm of Denmark receives information about a person from this database. The register came into force by royal assent in Greenland with the effect from 1 July 1972. The register is housed by CPR-Kontoret (literally "The CPR Office"), which is responsible for maintaining and developing the database and communicating data to government agencies, as well as to authorised private companies. CPR (also billed as Crosby, Pevar & Raymond) was a jazz-rock band consisting of the late singer-songwriter David Crosby (a founding member of the Byrds and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young), session guitarist Jeff Pevar, and Crosby's son, keyboardist James Raymond. The first song that Crosby and Raymond co-wrote, "Morrison", was performed live for the first time in January 1997. The song recalled Crosby's ambivalent feelings about the portrayal of Jim Morrison in Oliver Stone's ''The Doors'' (1991). The success of the band's initial 1997 tour spawned a studio album, ''CPR'', which was released in March 1998. Cornelius Pass Road is an arterial road over Cornelius Pass in the Tualatin Mountains west of Portland, Oregon, United States, also extending several miles to the south.
