Bärbel Broschat ( Klepp, born 2 November 1957 in Magdeburg) is a retired East German 400 metres hurdler. Biography In 1980, a special edition of the World Championships was staged in Sittard, holding events not yet on the Olympic programme. Broschat won the 400 m hurdles ahead of compatriots Ellen Neumann and Petra Pfaff. Her winning time of 54.55 seconds was a career best time. Biography At the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul she finished sixth in 400 m hurdles in a personal best time of 54.04 seconds. Petra Krug (born 9 November 1963 in Dresden) is a retired East German hurdler. She represented the sports clubs SC Einheit Dresden and SC Dynamo Berlin, and became East German champion in 1989. Krug finished fifth at the 1983 World Championships in Helsinki. In 1989, Krug won the European Cup in Gateshead, defeating Sally Gunnell and Tatyana Ledovskaya. At the World Cup later that year in Barcelona, she finished fourth behind Sandra Farmer-Patrick, Ledovskaya and Gunnell. She reached the final at the 1990 European Championships in Split, but was forced to withdraw because of injury. Her personal best time was 54.35 seconds, achieved in July 1989 in Bryansk. Karin Roßley, (née Regel, born 5 April 1957) is a retired East German hurdler, who represented the sports team SC Cottbus. She was born in Cottbus. She won the bronze medal at the 1978 European Championships. Roßley set two world records during her career: 55.63 seconds in August 1977 in Helsinki and 54.28 seconds in May 1980 in Jena. Heike Meißner
Brigitte Heike Meissner (german: Meißner, born 29 January 1970 in Dresden) is a retired German athlete. She competed mainly in the 400 metres hurdles, but also spent two seasons specializing in the 800 metres. Notable achievements include a silver medal at the 2002 European Championships, medals in 4 x 400 metres relay at the 1994 European Championships and the 1997 World Indoor Championships and a fourth place at the 1995 World Championships. She won the 400 metres hurdles bronze medal at the 1989 European Junior Championships. She also helped win the 4 x 400 m relay with the East German team.
