Byron Shire
Byron Shire is a local government area located in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, Australia. The shire is located adjacent to the ''Coral Sea'' about south of the Queensland border. The shire, administered from the town of Mullumbimby, covers an area of , and has existed as a local government entity since 1906. The shire was named for Cape Byron, itself named by Captain James Cook in May 1770 in honour of Vice-Admiral John Byron. Michael Lyon was first elected Mayor to fill a casual vacancy on Thursday 13 May 2021 and then popularly elected at the Council elections on December 4, 2021. Stanmore is part of the London Borough of Harrow in London. Suffolk Park, New South Wales
Suffolk Park is a suburb in the Byron Shire of the Northern Rivers region in New South Wales, Australia. It is 5 km south of Byron Bay. At the 2021 Census, its population was 4,222. The town was named after George A. Suffolk (1876-1952) who dedicated a large parcel of land to the Byron Shire Council for community use on 16 November 1922. Suffolk Park has grown to a point of having its own identity. Situated just south of Cape Byron, Suffolk Park is a 10 minute drive from Byron Bay. Broken Head, New South Wales
Broken Head is a coastal feature (promontory/headland) and suburb located in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, Australia, approximately 9 km south of Cape Byron, the easternmost point of Australia, the closest town being Byron Bay. Immediately adjacent is the Broken Head Nature Reserve which contains an intact segment of littoral rainforest. The suburb of Broken Head contained a population of 225 at the 2011 national census, and in addition supports some tourist accommodation and a campsite. The area is noted for its Aboriginal culture, rainforest walks, whale watching and fishing from pristine beaches, and it is also highly regarded as a surfing locality. Byron Bay (Minjungbal: ''Cavvanbah)'' is a beachside town located in the far-northeastern corner of the state of New South Wales, Australia on Bundjalung Country.
