Bull Behman
Russell K. "Bull" Behman (January 15, 1900 – March 24, 1950) was an American professional football player and coach in the early National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Lebanon Valley College in 1920 and 1921, and at Dickinson College in 1922 and 1923, captaining the team in the latter year. In 1924, Behman joined the Frankford Yellow Jackets, a long-established team but then new to the NFL. He emerged as a placekicker in 1925, hitting on five field goals and twelve PAT's. Placekicker
Placekicker, or simply kicker (PK or K), is the player in gridiron football who is responsible for the kicking duties of field goals and extra points. In many cases, the placekicker also serves as the team's kickoff specialist or punter. Specialized role The kicker initially was not a specialized role. Prior to the 1934 standardization of the prolate spheroid shape of the ball, drop kicking was the prevalent method of kicking field goals and conversions, but even after its replacement by place kicking, until the 1960s the kicker almost always doubled at another position on the roster. George Blanda, Lou Groza, Frank Gifford and Paul Hornung are prominent examples of players who were stars at other positions as well as being known for their kicking abilities. Jefferson is a town in and the county seat of Ashe County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 1,611 at the 2010 census. History The North Carolina General Assembly created a special commission in 1799 to found a county seat for Ashe County. The commission purchased of land to form the town of Jeffersonton, later named Jefferson. It is one of the first towns in the nation to bear the name of Thomas Jefferson, who was the vice president of the United States in 1799.
