Frankford, Tasmania
Frankford is a locality and small rural community in the local government areas of Latrobe (in the north), West Tamar (in the east), and Meander Valley (in the west), in the North West region of Tasmania. It is located about north-west of the town of Launceston. The 2016 census determined a population of 176 for the state suburb of Frankford. History The name first appeared on a map in 1883. The locality was gazetted in 1966. Geography The locality consists of a valley with higher ground on either side, but does not contain a major stream. Most of it is drained by the Franklin Rivulet, which runs to the north-west and discharges into the Rubicon Estuary. Frankford is a town in Sussex County, Delaware, United States. The population was 847 at the 2010 census, an increase of 18.6% over the previous decade. It is part of the Salisbury, Maryland-Delaware Metropolitan Statistical Area. History Located on U.S. Route 113, Frankford, was founded in 1808 and incorporated in 1937. The town was named Frankford Village in 1848 upon the acquisition of a post office. The establishment of the Pennsylvania Railroad brought a hotel, commercial establishments and an opera house to make Frankford a thriving commercial and cultural center. Frankford Township is a township in Sussex County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the township's population was 5,565, reflecting an increase of 145 (+2.7%) from the 5,420 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 306 (+6.0%) from the 5,114 counted in the 1990 Census. Frankford Township was formed on April 10, 1797, from portions of Newton Township, and was incorporated on February 21, 1798, as one of New Jersey's initial 104 townships by an act of the New Jersey Legislature. Frankford is a neighborhood in the Northeast section of Philadelphia situated about six miles (10 km) northeast of Center City. Although its borders are vaguely defined, the neighborhood is bounded roughly by the original course of Frankford Creek on the south to Castor Avenue on the southwest, to Cheltenham Avenue on the north and to the Torresdale Avenue on the east. Adjacent neighborhoods are Bridesburg, Kensington, Juniata, Oxford Circle, Summerdale, and Wissinoming.
