Brico Dépôt
Brico Dépôt () is a chain of DIY and home improvement stores, headquartered in Longpont-sur-Orge. The chain was created in 1993 by Castorama Dubois Investment and later purchased by the British group Kingfisher which operates 135 stores in Belgium, 123 in France, 34 in Romania, 28 in Spain and 3 in Portugal. Brico Dépôt has a low-cost warehouse format which sells a limited line of around 10,000 products in large quantities. In Romania it dropped warehouse format in 2016. In 2014, the first 15 stores opened in Romania after the acquisition of the Bricostore chain by Kingfisher, followed by the acquisition of Praktiker Romania in 2018, bringing the number of stores to 34.Kingfisher buys Praktiker in Romania

Longpont-sur-Orge (, literally ''Longpont on Orge'') is a commune in the Essonne department in Île-de-France in northern France. From 1954 to 1962, the villa in Longpont-sur-Orge owned by William and Noma Copley served as a social hub and a central gathering place in the postwar era for a community of Surrealists to reunite after their dispersal during the war. Castorama () is a French retailer of DIY and home improvement tools and supplies, headquartered in Templemars, France, and is part of the British group Kingfisher plc, which has 101 stores in France and 90 in Poland. The company became a subsidiary of Kingfisher plc in May 2002, along with Castorama's own subsidiary Brico Dépôt. Bricostore was a French home improvement retailer which operated stores in France, Hungary, Romania and Croatia. Founded by the French Bresson family in Paris in 1991, the company operated 7 stores in France until 2001, when they sold 6 stores to Bricorama and closed the remaining one. In Hungary, Bricostore opened its first store in 1999 and had a total of 9 stores. The stores were closed in 2012 and subsequently sold to other retailers and companies, such as OBI who bought 3 stores. Bricostore opened the first store in Romania in March 2002 and reached 15 stores in March 2011. Praktiker AG was a German hardware store chain which operated in Europe. It was based in Hamburg and opened its first store in 1978 in Luxembourg under the name bâtiself. Initially owned by ASKO, the chain became a division of Metro AG after the merger of ASKO with Metro Cash & Carry in 1995. It was spun off under the name Praktiker Holding in November 2005 and listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. Since 2006 until 2011 was listed on MDAX and since 2011 until 2013 on SDAX.
