Bram Roth
Abraham Cornelis (Bram) Roth (The Hague, September 7, 1916–October 21, 1995) was a Dutch sculptor. Live and Work Roth studied sculpture with teachers such as Bon Ingen-Housz, Marino Marini and at the Koninklijke Academie van Beeldende Kunsten in The Hague. Later as a teacher himself was he connected to the Academie van Beeldende Kunsten en Technische Wetenschappen in Rotterdam. He worked in a semi-naturalistic, style; frequent subjects of his sculptures were women and horses. He worked as an independent sculptor and painter, but was also a member of artists' groups such as the Pulchri Studio, Verve en the South Holland Cultural Group (Dutch: ''Culturele Raad Zuid-Holland)''. Roth was considered part of the artistic movement named the Nieuwe Haagse School. Much of his work is in public spaces in The Hague. Bon Ingen-Housz
Bonaventura Alphonsus Maria (Bon) Ingen-Housz (also Bon Ingenhousz, 25 April 1881 in Breda – 16 December 1953 in Breda) was a Dutch sculptor. Bon Ingen-Housz (also called BMA Ingen-Housz, MA Ingen-Housz, or Bon Ingenhousz or Bon Ingen Housz) came from the prominent family Ingen Housz in Breda, which mainly consisted of bankers and doctors. He received his training as a sculptor at the Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten in Amsterdam. Ingen-Housz worked on several large sculpture projects in Amsterdam (Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam) and the Van Heutsz-Monument), in The Hague and in Rotterdam. Ingen-Housz was a lecturer at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague from 1918 to 1946. In 1908 Ingen-Housz was the winner of the Dutch Prix de Rome. Marino Marini (sculptor)
Marino Marini (27 February 1901 – 6 August 1980) was an Italian sculpture, sculptor and educator. Biography He attended the Accademia Di Belle Arti, Florence, Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence in 1917. Although he never abandoned painting, Marini devoted himself primarily to sculpture from about 1922. From this time his work was influenced by Etruscan art and the sculpture of Arturo Martini. Marini succeeded Martini as professor at the Scuola d’Arte di Villa Reale in Monza, near Milan, in 1929, a position he retained until 1940. During this period, Marini traveled frequently to Paris, where he associated with Massimo Campigli, Giorgio de Chirico, Alberto Magnelli, and Filippo Tibertelli de Pisis. The Royal Academy of Art (KABK, nl, Koninklijke Academie van Beeldende Kunsten) is an art and design academy in The Hague. Succeeding the ''Haagsche Teeken-Academie'' (part of the Confrerie Pictura), the academy was founded on 29 September 1682, making it the oldest in the Netherlands and one of the oldest in the world. The Willem de Kooning Academy ( nl, Willem de Kooning Academie) is a Dutch academy of media, art, design, leisure and education based in Rotterdam. It was named after one of its most famous alumni, Dutch fine artist Willem de Kooning. Pulchri Studio (Latin:"For the study of beauty") is a Dutch art society, art institution and art studio based in The Hague ('s-Gravenhage), Netherlands. This institute began in 1847 at the home of painter Lambertus Hardenberg. Since 1893 the club has its residence in the villa at Lange Voorhout in The Hague. The New Hague School (Dutch Nieuwe Haagse School) was a movement in the Dutch fine arts of the 1950s and 60s. It opposed the Cobra avant-garde movement and found its inspiration in 17th-century art and the experiences of the Barbizon School and the resulting Hague School.
