Brady Kurtz
Brady Kurtz (born 27 September 1996) is an Australian speedway rider. Biography Born in Cowra, New South Wales, Kurtz isn't the only racer in his family. Brady's older brother Todd Kurtz is a fellow Speedway rider, who has ridden for the Plymouth Devils amongst other teams in the UK. Career Brady got his first break into British Speedway riding in the Premier League with the Somerset Rebels. After 2 impressive years with the Rebels, Kurtz was named in the Poole Pirates team to compete in the 2016 Elite League. This news didn't come as a surprise, as Kurtz had already been the subject of interest from Poole for some time. The Poole promoter Matt Ford had gone on record lauding Kurtz as an "outstanding talent" that "every single club wants to snap up as an asset". Cowra is a small town in the Central West region of New South Wales, Australia. It is the largest population centre and the council seat for the Cowra Shire, with a population of 9,863. The 2016 QBE Insurance Australian FIM Speedway Grand Prix was the eleventh and final race of the 2016 Speedway Grand Prix season. It took place on 22 October at the Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia. 2016 Speedway Grand Prix
The 2016 Speedway Grand Prix season was the 22nd season of the Speedway Grand Prix era, and decided the 71st FIM Speedway World Championship. It was the sixteenth series under the promotion of Benfield Sports International, an IMG company. Tai Woffinden was the defending champion from 2015. Greg Hancock won the title, the fourth of his career. He won the series by nine points from 2015 champion Woffinden, who finished second ahead of debutant Bartosz Zmarzlik. Jason Doyle was leading the series with two rounds to go, but suffered an injury in his first heat during the penultimate round in Poland and was unable to complete the season. He eventually finished fifth, behind Australian compatriot and 2012 world champion Chris Holder, who won his home Grand Prix in Melbourne (his first SGP win since 2012) to move in fourth in the standings. Vargarna Speedway
Vargarna are a Swedish motorcycle speedway team based in Norrköping, Sweden. The team race at the Norrköpings Motorstadion. History The name Vargarna literally translates into English as "The Wolves". The team won the Swedish Speedway Team Championship five times 1949, 1951, 1953, 1954, 1960 and 1961. In recent years the club has moved up and down leagues from the Elitserien to the second tier of Swedish speedway, the Allsvenskan (National League). During the 2022 Swedish Speedway season the club reached the Allsvenskan play off final. Perhaps the club's most notable rider in recent years was the former world champion Nicki Pedersen, who signed for the team in 2010. The Motordrome, also known as the Olympic Park Speedway, the Melbourne Speedway or the Victorian Speedway, was a former speedway and Australian rules football ground located approximately on the site of the present day Melbourne Rectangular Stadium in Olympic Park in Melbourne, Victoria. The ground was primarily a speedway track, but also hosted football matches. History Melbourne Carnivals Pty. Ltd, a company established in 1923 by Jack Campbell and Jim DuFrocq, developed and leased a large site known as the Amateur Sports Ground from the Crown with the help of local entrepreneur John Wren. The 2015 Team Speedway Junior World Championship was the 11th FIM Team Under-21 World Championship season. The final took place on 31 October, 2015 at the Olympic Park Speedway in Mildura, Australia, the first time it was held outside of Europe. Poland won their 8th Team Under-21 World Championship. 2015 Individual Speedway Junior World Championship
The 2015 Individual Speedway Junior World Championship was the 39th edition of the FIM World motorcycle speedway Under-21 Championships. It was staged over three rounds, at Lonigo, Lublin and Pardubice. The competition was won by Bartosz Zmarzlik, who finished five points ahead of Denmark's Anders Thomsen, despite not winning any of the three rounds to be held. Thomsen finished second after winning a run-off with compatriot Mikkel Michelsen, who won at Lonigo and Pardubice but struggled at Lublin and was unable to catch Zmarzlik, who finished on the podium at each of the rounds. Paweł Przedpełski was the winner on home soil at Lublin. SGB Premiership 2023
The 2023 Sports Insure SGB Premiership is the 88th season of the top tier of British speedway and the 6th known as the SGB Premiership. There was an increase of one team after the Leicester Lions opted to move up from the SGB Championship. 2023 summary Seven clubs will compete for the league championship, with Leicester Lions joining the from the division below. Each club will race against each other four times (home and away twice), meaning a total of 24 fixtures each. The 'Super Heat' scoring system was retained from the 2022 season, however extra points for away fixtures have been scrapped in favour of an aggregate bonus point. The top four teams in the league will qualify for the playoffs, with the two semi-final winners then reaching the Grand Final. The points limit remains 39 points for six riders, with one additional 'rising star'.
