Brady Ellison
Brady Ellison (born October 27, 1988) is an American archer who competes in recurve archery. He is currently a Resident Athlete at the United States Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, California. He holds the record for the longest continuous period as the world number-one-ranked men's recurve archer, from August 2011 to April 2013. He earned his nickname "The Prospector" during the 2015 world championships due to his proclivity for 'finding gold'. Personal life As a child, Ellison suffered from Legg–Calvé–Perthes disease and wore leg braces for some time. He has had subsequent health issues with his knees, particularly in the lead-up to and during the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, and the fingers of his drawing hand. Ellison married Slovenian archer Toja Černe (now known as Toja Ellison) in April 2016. 2011 World Archery Championships
The 2011 World Archery Championships was the 46th edition of the event. It was held in Turin, Italy on 2–10 July 2011 and was organized by International Archery Federation (FITA). The event was contested in two different areas. The preliminary rounds were held at the Palazzina di caccia of Stupinigi in Nichelino (10km south-west of Turin) and the finals were held at the Piazza Castello in Turin. The top eight teams in the recurve competition for men and women qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics, as eight athletes from NOC's not already qualified qualified quotas for their countries. 2014 Archery World Cup
The 2014 Archery World Cup was the 9th edition of the annual international archery circuit, organised by the World Archery Federation. American Brady Ellison won the men's recurve competition for a record third time, beating 16-year-old Marcus D'Almeida in the final by shoot off. The winners in the other events were all from the Americas. Archery World Cup
The Archery World Cup is a competition, started in 2006, organized by the World Archery Federation, where the archers compete in four stages in four countries and the best eight archers of each category (from 2010, four archers during 2006-09) advance to an additional stage to contest the Archery World Cup Final. This form of competition was introduced following the success of the 2003 World Archery Championships in New York and the 2004 Summer Olympics with the intent of making the sport more popular and attractive to spectators, with the matches being held in 'spectacular' locations and the final matches being broadcast online. Archery At The 2015 Pan American Games
Archery competitions at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto was held from July 14 to 18 at Varsity Stadium. Just like in the Archery at the Summer Olympics, Olympics, the archery competition was conducted using the recurve bow. A total of four archery events were held: two each for men and women. The 2015 World Archery Championships were scheduled for later in July, to not conflict with the games. Venue The competitions took place at the Varsity Stadium, located on the downtown campus of the University of Toronto. The facility is about five kilometers from the West Don Lands#Canary District, athletes village. The stadium will have a capacity of 2,000 people per session. Archery At The 2019 Pan American Games
Archery competitions at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru were held between August 7 and 11, 2019 at the Archery field in the Villa María del Triunfo cluster. In 2017, Panam Sports added compound archery, compound events (individual and mixed team), marking the first time ever the discipline has been held at the Pan American Games. Also in 2017, the International Olympic Committee approved the addition of a mixed team event in the recurve discipline, which meant it was subsequently added to these games' event program. This means a total of eight events will be held: three each for men and women, along with two mixed events. The 2019 Pan American Games ( es, Juegos Panamericanos de 2019, links=no), officially the XVIII Pan American Games and commonly known as the Lima 2019 Pan-Am Games or Lima 2019 ( qu, Limaq 2019), were a multi-sport event governed by the Panam Sports Organization, were held in Lima, Peru from July 26 to August 11, 2019, with preliminary rounds in certain events having begun on July 24, 2019. The 2011 Pan American Games, officially the XVI Pan American Games, was an international multi-sport event that was held from October 14–30, 2011, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.
