2010 Archery World Cup
The 2010 Archery World Cup was the 5th edition of the annual international archery circuit, organised by the World Archery Federation. Competition rules and scoring The compound legs consisted of a 50m qualification round of 72 arrows, followed by the compound round at 50m on a 6-zone target face, using cumulative scoring for all individual, team and mixed competitions. The top seven individual performers (with no more than two from each country,) plus one host nation representative if not already qualified, proceeded to the finals; the top mixed team performer proceeded to face the host nation at the finals, which were the same competition format as the legs. The team competition was not competed at the finals. The recurve legs consisted of a FITA qualification round, followed by a 72m Olympic set system. Archery World Cup
The Archery World Cup is a competition, started in 2006, organized by the World Archery Federation, where the archers compete in four stages in four countries and the best eight archers of each category (from 2010, four archers during 2006-09) advance to an additional stage to contest the Archery World Cup Final. This form of competition was introduced following the success of the 2003 World Archery Championships in New York and the 2004 Summer Olympics with the intent of making the sport more popular and attractive to spectators, with the matches being held in 'spectacular' locations and the final matches being broadcast online. It has received plaudits for its innovative approach to the sport, raising its profile and reach. Simon Terry
Simon Duncan Terry (27 March 1974 – July 2021) was a British archer from Grantham in Lincolnshire, England. Early life Terry was born on 27 March 1974 in Stirling, the son of Mike and Janice Terry. With the help of his father, Terry first began practising archery when he was eight years old. At the age of nine he won his first competition. At the time of the 1992 Summer Olympics, Terry was an unemployed roofer. Comeback After 13 years of retirement from archery, Terry began shooting again, and achieved high placings in major international events including the team gold at the World Cup 2007, stage two, in Varese, and an individual fourth place at the World Outdoor Championships in Leipzig, Germany being beaten by his teammate Alan Wills in a thrilling tie break where he scored a nine, and Wills took the bronze with a 10. Inna Yakovlevna Stepanova (russian: Инна Яковлевна Степанова; born 17 April 1990) is a Russian archer of Buryat ethnicity. Stepanova is a student of Physical Education at Buryat State University. Bérengère Schuh (born 13 June 1984 in Auxerre) is an athlete from France. She competes in archery. 2004 Summer Olympics Schuh represented France at the 2004 Summer Olympics. She placed 31st in the women's individual ranking round with a 72-arrow score of 626. In the first round of elimination, she faced 34th-ranked Elpida Romantzi of Greece. Schuh lost 151–143 in the 18-arrow match, placing 43rd overall in women's individual archery. Jayanta Talukdar (born 2 March 1986 in Guwahati) is an Indian archer from Assam. He has won individual gold Medal in the 2006 Archery World Cup. Career Talukdar was part of the Indian team that won the silver medal at the 2004 Junior World Championships. He followed up with a gold medal at the FITA Meteksan World Cup in 2006, becoming the first Indian archer (bhartiya tirandaj) to win gold at the event. In 2006 he also won a gold medal at the South Asian Games and a bronze medal in the team competition at the 2006 Asian Games. Lee Chang-hwan (; born 16 March 1982) is a professional archer from South Korea. He competed in Archery at the 2006 Asian Games and won a gold medal with the men's team consisting of himself, Im Dong-hyun, Jang Yong-ho and Park Kyung-mo. 2008 Summer Olympics At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing Lee finished his ranking round with a total of 669 points, ten points behind leader Juan René Serrano. Im Dong-hyun (; ; born 12 May 1986) is a South Korean archer. He competes for the South Korean national team and is a former world number one. He has 20/200 vision in his left eye and 20/100 vision in his right eye, meaning he needs to be 10 times closer to see objects clearly with his left eye, compared to someone with perfect vision. Oh Jin-hyek ( ko, 오진혁; , Hanja: 吳真爀; born 15 August 1981) is a South Korean archer. Oh first competed for the Korean national team in 1999, but did not win a major individual international tournament until he won the gold medal in the Men's individual event at the 2012 Summer Olympics, also becoming the first Korean male archer to win an Olympic individual gold medal.
