Qualification for the Boxing Events at the 2012 Summer Olympics is based on the WBS Individual Championships, the 2011 World Championships and 5 Continental Qualifying Events to be held in 2012. Boxing At The 2012 Summer Olympics
The boxing tournaments at the 2012 Olympic Games in London were held from 28 July to 12 August at the ExCeL Exhibition Centre. A total of 286 competitors took part in 13 events. For the first time at an Olympic Games, women competed in three boxing events. Kaeo Pongprayoon ( th, แก้ว พงษ์ประยูร, , ; born 28 March 1980 in Kamphaeng Phet) is a Thai amateur boxer who won a silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Pongprayoon won the 2009 Asian Amateur Boxing Championships and the 2009 Southeast Asian Games and 2011 at light flyweight. Pürevdorjiin Serdamba ( mn, Пүрэвдоржийн Сэрдамба; April 18, 1985) is a retired Mongolian amateur boxer. He won a silver medal at the 2008 Olympics in the junior flyweight division. David Valeryevich Ayrapetyan (russian: Давид Валерьевич Айрапетян, born 26 September 1983) is an Armenian-Russian amateur boxer. He is a six-time Champion of Russia, European Champion, World and Olympic medalist. Ayrapetyan was awarded the Honored Master of Sports of Russia title in 2009. Early life David was born on 26 October 1983 in Baku, Azerbaijan SSR to an Armenian family. David received his name from his uncle, his fathers brother. His uncle was a wrestler and took David to his practices. After the beginning of the First Nagorno-Karabakh War, the family was forced to move to Armenia and then later to Russia. Zou Shiming (; born 18 May 1981) is a Chinese former professional boxer who competed from 2013 to 2017 and held the WBO flyweight title from 2016 to 2017. As an amateur, Zou is China's most successful boxer of all time. In the light-flyweight division, he won three consecutive Olympic medals (bronze in 2004 and gold in 2008 and 2012), as well as three World Amateur Boxing Championships gold medals in 2005, 2007 and 2011.
