Boulder Dam (film)
''Boulder Dam'' is a 1936 American drama film directed by Frank McDonald and written by Sy Bartlett and Ralph Block. The film stars Ross Alexander, Patricia Ellis, Lyle Talbot, Eddie Acuff, Henry O'Neill and Egon Brecher. The film was released by Warner Bros. on March 7, 1936. Plot Rusty Noonan is a mechanic in Detroit, Michigan. During an altercation with his boss he kills the man in self-defense. After fleeing Detroit he finds himself in Las Vegas, Nevada. He befriends a woman named Ann and finds work helping construct the Boulder Dam. Frank McDonald (director)
Frank Burgess McDonald (November 9, 1899 – March 8, 1980) was an American film and television director, active from 1935 to 1966. He directed more than 100 films, including many Westerns starring Gene Autry and Roy Rogers, and numerous TV show episodes. He is interred at Conejo Mountain Memorial Park in Camarillo, California. McDonald was born in Baltimore, Maryland, the son of Samuel and Florence McDonald. His father was an employee of Baltimore and Ohio Railroad. Participation in amateur theatrical productions sparked an interest in performing, causing him to leave Baltimore City College to pursue a career in entertainment. McDonald's professional performing debut came in a vaudeville act in which he played a burglar. He also acted on Broadway, in ''Puppets'' (1925), ''The K Guy'' (1928), ''Just to Remind You'' (1931), and ''Bulls, Bears and Asses'' (1932). George Breakston
George Paul Breakston (January 22, 1920 – May 21, 1973) was a French-American actor, film producer, producer and film director, active in Hollywood from his days as a child actor in Andy Hardy films in the 1930s (where he played the character ''Beezy''), to a period as an independent producer/director in the 1950s. Biography Breakston was the son of French-born Jacqueline DuVal. He first entered the entertainment world by working in radio as a child actor from 1930. Hs came to the notice of Hollywood and appeared in a variety of films. He made his stage debut in ''A Midsummer Night's Dream'' and made his motion picture debut in ''It Happened One Night'' (1934). During World War II he was commissioned in the US Army Signal Corps through Officers Candidate School then served in the Pacific War as a photographer. When the war ended Breakston remained in Japan. Joseph A. Creaghan (July 15, 1883 – April 15, 1966) was an American film actor. He appeared in more than 300 films between 1916 and 1965, and notably played Ulysses S. Grant nine times between 1939 and 1958, most memorably in ''Union Pacific'' and ''They Died with Their Boots On''. Early life Born in Baltimore, Maryland. he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mathew Crehan.
