Andrei Borissov (born 1 August 1969 in Tallinn, Estonia) is an Estonian football coach and former professional footballer. He played the position of midfielder and is 1.77 m tall and weighs 76 kg. Borissov is the former member of the Estonia national football team, with 14 caps to his name. From 2009 Borissov has been acting as a playing coach in Ajax Lasnamäe, FC Infonet, Tartu SK 10 and Maardu Linnameeskond, mostly in Esiliiga The Esiliiga is the second division in the Estonian football league system. Estonia National Football Team
The Estonia national football team ( et, Eesti jalgpallikoondis) represents Estonia in international football matches and is controlled by the Estonian Football Association, the governing body for football in Estonia. Estonia's home ground is Lilleküla Stadium in Tallinn. Estonia's first match was held against Finland in 1920, being a 6–0 defeat. The team participated in the 1924 Olympic Games tournament, their only participation. In 1940, Estonia was occupied by the Soviet Union and did not regain independence (and the possibility of a national football team) until 1991. Estonia's first FIFA recognised match as an independent nation after the break-up of the Soviet Union, was against Slovenia on 3 June 1992, a 1–1 draw in the Estonian capital city of Tallinn. Maardu Linnameeskond
Maardu Linnameeskond is a football club based in Maardu, Estonia. The team compete in the II liiga, the fourth tier of the Estonian football league system. They adopted their current name in 2016, before being promoted to the Estonian top tier Meistriliiga for the first time in 2019. They were relegated the following season and played in Esiliiga for the next two seasons. After winning 2021 Esiliiga they should have been promoted to Meistriliiga, but due to financial reasons they waived the opportunity and were relegated to II liiga, taking their reserve squad's place. FCI Tallinn (FC Infonet Tallinn) is a football club, based in Lasnamäe, Tallinn, Estonia. Formed in 2002, the club played in the Estonian top flight Meistriliiga from 2013 to 2017, and won the league in the 2016 season. In 2017, the club merged with Levadia, with the main team and first reserve disbanded, the second reserves, playing in the II Liiga, the fourth level, inherited the club's name. Meistriliiga (, known as the A. Le Coq Premium Liiga for sponsorship reasons) is the highest division of the Estonian Football Association annual football (soccer), football championship. The league was founded in 1992, and was initially semi-professional with amateur clubs allowed to compete. With the help of solidarity mechanisms, the league is fully professional since the 2020 Meistriliiga, 2020 season. As in most countries with low temperatures in winter time, the season starts in March and ends in November. Meistriliiga consists of ten clubs, all teams play each other four times. Veikkausliiga (; sv, Tipsligan) is the premier division of Finnish football, the highest tier of the Finnish football league structure, comprising the top 12 clubs of the country.
