Boonlai Sor.Thanikul ( th, บุญหลาย ส ธนิกุล; born: November 11, 1970 in Chachoengsao Province, Thailand), also anglicized as Boonlay Sor.Thanikun, is a former Thai Muay Thai fighter. He is respected as one of the most skilled fighters of the Muay Thai golden era who fought a wide variety of opponents. He won 2 Lumpinee Stadium titles against "The Wonder Boy" Karuhat Sor.Supawan and "Mr. Merciless Knee" Langsuan Panyuthaphum and defended them both against Oley Kiatoneway. Biography and career Early life Ramoon and his twin brother were born into a poor family living in Chachoengsao province on November 16, 1970. Pongsiri Por Ruamrudee ( th, พงษ์ศิริ พ.ร่วมฤดี), was a former Thai Muay Thai kickboxer, popular during the golden era of Muay Thai. Biography & career Por Ruamrudee was born as Paiboon Ladnongkee (ไพบูลย์ ลัดหนองขี) in Tambon Mueang Phlapphla, Amphoe Huai Thalaeng, Nakhon Ratchasima province, northeastern Thailand. Lumpinee Boxing Stadium ( th, สนามเวทีมวยลุมพินี) is a sporting arena in Bangkok, Thailand. The stadium is named after Lumbini, the birthplace of the Buddha. Opened more than a decade later than Rajadamnern Stadium, Lumpinee is run by the Royal Thai Army. It has become the symbol of modern Muay Thai. Only Rajadamnern Stadium rivals the prestige of holding the title of "Muay Thai Champion of Lumpinee". The ranking system and championship titles are held from mini flyweight (105 lb) up to super welterweight (154 lb). Muay Thai bouts are held on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. His father owned a small local camp and introduced him to Muay Thai at the age of 10. He had around 20 fights for the Sit.Poonsak camp in the Khon Kaen and Udon Thani provinces. Somluck Kamsing (name used in the 1996 Summer Olympics) or Somrak Kamsing ( th, สมรักษ์ คำสิงห์; ; born January 16, 1973) is a Thai kickboxer and Olympic gold medal-winning amateur boxer. During the 1998 Asian Games in Bangkok, Thailand, Kamsing lit the torch during the Games' opening ceremony. Kamsing was born in Khon Kaen. His older brother Somrot Kamsing also competed at the highest level as an amateur boxer. Wangchannoi Sor Palangchai or Wangchannoi Sor Sirada ( th, วังจั่นน้อย ส.พลังชัย, วังจั่นน้อย ส.สิระดา; born: May 30, 1967 in Lopburi) is a retired Muay Thai fighter from Thailand. Jongsanan Fairtex ( th, จงสนั่น แฟร์เท็กซ์) is a Thai Muay Thai fighter. Biography and career Jongsanan was born July 24, 1974, in Chaiyaphum Province. He grew up in a poor farming family, he was introduced to Muay Thai by his grandfather with whom he would watch fights on the local television. He wasn't doing well in school and told his parents he wanted to be a fighter. He started fighting in the region from the age of 11. At 16 Jongsanan managed to join the Fairtex Gym in Bangkok through his uncle's connections. The first five months were rough as he didn't receive any training and kept doing various chores until the gym needed him as a last minute replacement. After the win on short notice Jongsanan gained respect of the trainers, most notably of Monlit Sitphodaeng.
