Boise Open
The Albertsons Boise Open presented by Chevron is a professional golf tournament in Idaho on the Korn Ferry Tour, played annually at Hillcrest Country Club in Boise. Held in mid-September for its first 23 years, the new September playoff schedule of the Web.com Tour in 2013 moved the Boise event up to late July. The event returned to mid-September in 2016, and became part of the Web.com Tour Finals as the penultimate event. The schedule was revised for 2019 and it moved to late August. History The tournament has been played every year since 1990, the first year of the tour, then known as the Ben Hogan Tour. It is one of four original tournaments on the current schedule. Future notable names in the top 20 that first year were Tom Lehman, John Daly, Jeff Maggert, and Stephen Ames; David Toms made the cut. Jeff Maggert
Jeffrey Allan Maggert (born February 20, 1964) is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour and PGA Tour Champions. Early life Maggert was born in Columbia, Missouri. He was raised on a golf course in The Woodlands, Texas where he attended McCullough High School. Amateur career Maggert attended Texas A&M University. He was an All-American member of the golf team. Professional career Maggert turned professional in 1986. Early in his career he played overseas, especially on the Asia Golf Circuit and PGA Tour of Australia. He had some early success, winning the 1989 Malaysian Open on the AGC and the 1990 Vines Classic on the Australian Tour. Early in 1990, he qualified for the Ben Hogan Tour, the PGA Tour's developmental tour. He was Player of the Year on the Ben Hogan Tour in 1990 where he won two tournaments. The 2009 Nationwide Tour was the 20th Nationwide Tour season. It ran from February 5 to October 25. The season consisted of 29 official money golf tournaments; six of which were played outside of the United States. Fran Quinn
Fran Quinn Jr. (born March 11, 1965) is an American professional golfer who currently plays on the PGA Tour Champions. He previously played on the PGA Tour and the Nationwide Tour. Quinn was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, and attended Saint John's High School, where he graduated in 1983 and Northwestern University, where he graduated in 1987 with a degree in economics. He turned professional in 1988. Quinn played his first full season on the Nationwide Tour, then Ben Hogan Tour, in 1991, where he made 13 of 25 cuts. Later in the year he finished T8 at Q-School, obtaining his PGA Tour card for 1992. He made only 6 of 18 cuts in 1992 and lost his tour card for 1993. Quinn played off and on the PGA and Nationwide Tour's from 1993 to 1997, until he shifted his focus mainly to the Nationwide Tour. Chris Tidland
Christopher Lee Tidland (born September 28, 1972) is an American professional golfer who currently plays on the Web.com Tour. Tidland was born in Torrance, California. He attended Oklahoma State University, and graduated in 1995 with a management degree. He led his team to the 1995 NCAA Division I Men's Championship and finished second in the individual tournament. Tidland turned professional after graduating. He played on the Nationwide Tour in 1996, 1999, 2002–06, and 2008-09 where he won two events - the 2008 Albertsons Boise Open and the 2009 Preferred Health Systems Wichita Open. Tidland played on the PGA Tour in 2001 and 2007 with his best finish a T-6 at the 2007 AT&T Classic. He was unable to finish high enough on the money list to retain his Tour card either year. Michelle Sung Wie West (; born October 11, 1989) is an American professional golfer who plays on the LPGA Tour. At age 10, she became the youngest player to qualify for a USGA amateur championship. Timothy Henry Clark (born 17 December 1975) is a South African professional golfer who currently plays on the PGA Tour. His biggest win was The Players Championship in 2010, which was also his first PGA Tour win. Early life and amateur career Clark was born in Durban, South Africa. He took up golf at the age of three and was taught to play by his father. He attended North Carolina State University in the United States, where he had a successful college golf career, winning ACC Player of the Year in 1997.
