The Bobby Parks Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Best Import of the Conference award (formerly known as the PBA Best Import of the Conference award) is given to the most outstanding non-Filipino on a team's roster, frequently referred to as the "import." Since imports are restricted to certain conferences, the award is a conference-long award, not a season-long award. The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) is a men's professional basketball league in the Philippines composed of twelve company-branded franchised teams. Billy Ray Bates
Billy Ray Bates (born May 31, 1956) is a retired American professional basketball player. Bates played shooting guard at McAdams High in Mississippi and attended Kentucky State University. Bates played four seasons in the National Basketball Association for the Portland Trail Blazers, Washington Bullets, and Los Angeles Lakers. He also played overseas, in Switzerland, Mexico, Uruguay, and most notably in the Philippines for the Crispa Redmanizers and Ginebra San Miguel of the Philippine Basketball Association. In the PBA, Bates had a legendary career with Crispa and is considered one of the greatest foreign players in league's history. The 1986 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Reinforced Conference was the first conference of the 1986 PBA season. It started on April 6 and ended on June 17, 1986. The tournament requires two import each per team with both standing 6"3 and below. Format The following format will be observed for the duration of the conference: * Double-round robin eliminations; 10 games per team; Teams are then seeded by basis on win–loss records. * Team with the worst record after the elimination round will be eliminated. * Semifinals will be two round robin affairs with the five remaining teams. Results from the elimination round will be carried over. * The top two teams in the semifinals advance to the best-of-seven finals. Michael Hackett (born May 11, 1960) is a retired American professional basketball player. He was the Liga Profesional de Baloncesto MVP in 1984, and the Israeli League Top Scorer in 1991. Basketball career He attended Jacksonville University, where he was considered by University of Alabama at Birmingham coach Gene Bartow as "the best 6-5 player in America." Hackett was drafted in 1982 by the Los Angeles Lakers with the 21st pick of the 3rd round of that year's National Basketball Association draft, but was released before the season started. Great Taste Coffee Makers
The Great Taste Coffee Makers were a basketball team that played in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) from 1975 to 1992. It was one of the founding members of the PBA, the Asia's first and oldest professional league. The franchise was owned by CFC Corporation (now merged with Universal Robina Corporation) and named after its brand of instant coffee, Great Taste Coffee. The franchise also played under other CFC brands such as N-Rich, Presto and Tivoli. The franchise won six PBA championships, mostly under coach Baby Dalupan.
