Michael Hackett (basketball)
Michael Hackett (born May 11, 1960) is a retired American professional basketball player. He was the Liga Profesional de Baloncesto MVP in 1984, and the Israeli League Top Scorer in 1991. Basketball career He attended Jacksonville University, where he was considered by University of Alabama at Birmingham coach Gene Bartow as "the best 6-5 player in America." Hackett was drafted in 1982 by the Los Angeles Lakers with the 21st pick of the 3rd round of that year's National Basketball Association draft, but was released before the season started. He also played overseas, including in the Philippines for Ginebra San Miguel of the Philippine Basketball Association. He was among the highest scoring imports in PBA history setting a then PBA record of 103 points against Great Taste in a game on November 21, 1985. This was later broken by Tony Harris' 105 points. The center (C), or the centre, also known as the five or the pivot, is one of the five Basketball position, positions in a regulation basketball game. Billy Ray Bates (born May 31, 1956) is a retired American professional basketball player. Bates played shooting guard at McAdams High in Mississippi and attended Kentucky State University. Bates played four seasons in the National Basketball Association for the Portland Trail Blazers, Washington Bullets, and Los Angeles Lakers. Tony Dwayne Harris (born May 13, 1967) is a retired American professional basketball player. After spending high school at Roosevelt in East Chicago, he later went to University of New Orleans. The Great Taste Coffee Makers were a basketball team that played in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) from 1975 to 1992. It was one of the founding members of the PBA, the Asia's first and oldest professional league. The franchise was owned by CFC Corporation (now merged with Universal Robina Corporation) and named after its brand of instant coffee, Great Taste Coffee.
