Bob La Castra
Robert "Bob" La Castra (born in England) is an Australian local politician who was a popular children's television show presenter in the 1980s, best known for hosting the children's show ''Wombat'' and the game show ''Big Square Eye''. He went on to write for ABC Television's ''Bananas in Pyjamas'' with his production company Little Production House. He also played Eddie Buckingham in the Network Ten soap opera ''Neighbours'' in 1990. Wombat (TV Series)
''Wombat'' was an Australian children's television show which screened on the Seven Network from 1979 to 1990. It was produced at BTQ7 in Brisbane and aired across Australia on weekday afternoons, and later Saturday and Sunday mornings. Synopsis The show had a number of hosts or presenters who were accompanied by their co-host Agro, a puppet portrayed/voiced by comedian Jamie Dunn, who had previously become known on the program ''Boris' Breakfast Club''. The show consisted of small educational editorials presented in a variety of segments. Big Square Eye
''Big Square Eye'' is an Australian children's game show aired on ABC TV from 1991 until 1992 and was repeated one last time in 1993. It was hosted by Bob La Castra, with musician Paul Mac as "Knuckles" McDermott on keyboard and sound effects. The programme aired on weekdays just after 5 pm as part of the '' Afternoon Show'' programming block. The premise of the program was that each episode had celebrity guest judges which particular skills which they would demonstrate to the children in the audience. Contestants were selected from the audience to attempt a challenge which involved the celebrity guest's skills to their satisfaction. ABC Television is the general name for the national television services of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). ''Bananas in Pyjamas'' is an Australian children's television series that first aired on 20 July 1992 on ABC. It has since been syndicated in many countries and dubbed into other languages. In the United States, the "Pyjamas" in the title was modified to reflect the American spelling ''pajamas''. It aired in syndication from 1995 to 1997 as a half-hour series, then became a 15-minute show paired with a short-lived 15-minute series '' The Crayon Box'', under a 30-minute block produced by Sachs Family Entertainment titled ''Bananas in Pajamas & The Crayon Box''. Eddie Buckingham
Eddie Buckingham is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera ''Neighbours'', played by Bob La Castra. He made his first screen appearance during the episode broadcast on 3 April 1990. La Castra created the character for himself after he was told that casting him the soap would be difficult due to his ethnic background. Eddie was introduced during a series of episodes set in London. He befriends Madge Bishop (Anne Charleston) and Harold Bishop (Ian Smith), and later travels to Australia to visit them. While he is in the country, Eddie lives with the Bishops and runs a food stall. He is portrayed as bright, street wise, and a "typical cockney lovable rogue".
