Robert Burns (born May 26, 1938) is a politician from Arizona. He is a former member of the Arizona Corporation Commission. Prior to that, he served in the Arizona State Senate, where in his final term, he was also elected as the President of the Senate. Before that he served six terms in the Arizona House of Representatives. Career Robert Burns was a member of the Arizona House of Representatives and the Arizona State Senate. He was elected to the House in 1988, and serve in that body from January 1989 through January 2001, winning re-election five times. He did not run in the November 2010 election. In the 2002 election he ran for the Senate in District 9, which was new due to redistricting, and won. He won re-election to the seat three times and served in the Senate from January 2003 through January 2011. During his last term in the Senate he was also elected as the President of the Senate. Robert Lewis Burns Jr. (November 24, 1950 – April 3, 2015) was an American drummer in the original line-up of the Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd. Biography Burns was born in Gainesville, Florida, on November 24, 1950. He helped to form Lynyrd Skynyrd in 1964 with Ronnie Van Zant, Gary Rossington, Allen Collins and Larry Junstrom and remained until 1974, although by some accounts he left the band for a while during the early 1970s. Burns played on the band's early recordings, but on the album '' Skynyrd's First and... Last,'' a collection of early demos made in Muscle Shoals, the drum parts of some songs recorded in 1971 were played by Rickey Medlocke. That album also contains songs recorded in 1972 which feature Burns on drums, suggesting that Burns left the band in 1971 and had returned by 1972. During a brief period in the early 1970s, Medlocke occasionally played alongside Burns on drums for live shows, a two-drummer line-up similar to The Allman Brothers Band. I ... Robert Edward James Burns (3 June 1884 – 16 August 1949) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Collingwood in the Victorian Football League (VFL). After playing two games for Collingwood in 1904, Burns moved to Perth to teach at the Christian Brothers College and played in the West Australian Football Association for the Perth and East Perth. Robert Donald Burns (born April 5, 1968) is an American professional golfer. Burns has played on the PGA Tour and the Nationwide Tour. Early life Burns was born in Mission Hills, California. Burns went to John F. Kennedy High school located in the San Fernando Valley. Amateur career He attended college at Cal State Northridge and was a member of the golf team. He won All-American honors his junior year, and was the individual medalist at the 1990 NCAA Division II Championship. Professional career Burns turned pro in 1991 and joined the PGA Tour in 1994. During Burns' first month on the PGA Tour, his home in Northridge, California was rocked by the destructive 1994 Northridge earthquake. Bob Burns is an American politician and Democratic member of the Missouri House of Representatives representing District 93 since January 9, 2013. Burns has previously held public office as a member of the St. Louis Community College Board of Trustees, Affton, Missouri School District Board of Education, and Alderman for the City of St. George, Missouri. Burns worked on the Congressional Staff of U.S. Congressman Richard Gephardt from 1995 to 1999 and the Senatorial Staff of U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill from 2007 to 2010. He appeared in more than 200 films between 1908 and 1952 as well as directing 13 films between 1915 and 1916. Burns was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and died in Los Angeles, California. He played Pokes in the ''Pokes and Jabbs'' silent comedies of the mid 1910s, with Walter Stull as Jabbs and frequently featuring Babe (Oliver) Hardy.
