Bobby Burns (actor)
Robert Paul Burns (September 1, 1878 – January 16, 1966) was an American film actor and director. He appeared in more than 200 films between 1908 and 1952 as well as directing 13 films between 1915 and 1916. Burns was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and died in Los Angeles, California. He played Pokes in the ''Pokes and Jabbs'' silent comedies of the mid 1910s, with Walter Stull as Jabbs and frequently featuring Babe (Oliver) Hardy. Later he supported Hardy in his partnership with Stan Laurel at the Hal Roach Studios in several of their early short comedies and feature films. Robert Joseph Burns (born 7 October 1999) is a Northern Irish professional association football, footballer who plays for Glentoran F.C., Glentoran as a Defender (association football), left back or midfielder. Early and personal life Burns was born in Antrim, County Antrim, Antrim. He was the Head Boy at St. Malachy's College, and had intended to study mathematics at University College Dublin or Queen's University Belfast before becoming a professional footballer. Club career Glenavon Burns played youth football for Lisburn Distillery F.C., Lisburn Distillery and Cliftonville F.C., Cliftonville before joining Glenavon F.C., Glenavon in June 2015. Burns made his senior debut for Glenavon in the 2015–16 season final game against Linfield at 16 years old. The following season he went on loan with Knockbreda F.C., Knockbreda in January 2016. Bobby Burns (ice Hockey)
Robert Alexander Burns (April 4, 1905 – August 12, 1995) was a Canadian professional ice hockey left wing who played 19 games in the National Hockey League with the Chicago Black Hawks between 1928 and 1930. Burns spent most of his career, which lasted from 1925 to 1939, in the American Hockey Association (AHA). Playing career Burns began his professional career in 1926 with Eddie Livingstone's Chicago Cardinals of the AHA. After the team was forced out of business by the NHL, the AHA assigned his rights to the Chicago Black Hawks. He played one game with the Hawks and the rest of the season for the Duluth Hornets. In 1928–29, he played in seven games for the Black Hawks. Primer 55 was an American nu metal band which formed in Memphis, Tennessee in 1997. The name originated from the combination of Primer, meaning "something that's unfinished", and 55, which refers to Interstate 55, "the road that drugs run on to get to Chicago through Memphis". History Formation and early days (1997–1998) Primer 55 was formed in 1997 in Memphis, Tennessee by guitarist Bobby Burns and vocalist J-Sin. Robert Burns (25 January 175921 July 1796), also known familiarly as Rabbie Burns, was a Scottish poet and lyricist. He is widely regarded as the national poet of Scotland and is celebrated worldwide. He is the best known of the poets who have written in the Scots language, although much of his writing is in a "light Scots dialect" of English, accessible to an audience beyond Scotland. He also wrote in standard English, and in these writings his political or civil commentary is often at its bluntest. The Bobby Burns is a whisky cocktail composed of scotch, vermouth and Bénédictine liqueur. It is served in a 4.5 US fl oz cocktail glass. The drink is named for Robert Burns, the Scottish poet, but is not considered a national drink in the way the Rusty Nail is. History The original recipe comes from the 1900 edition of ''Fancy Drinks'', published by Bishop & Babcock where it is called the "Baby Burns". The "Robert Burns" name appears in the 1908 ''Jack's Manual'' and 1914 ''Drinks'' made with Irish whiskey, vermouth and absinthe. In later publications it starts to be called by the more informal "Bobby Burns" name, with the original Irish whiskey recipe appearing in ''Recipes for Mixed Drinks'' (1917). The 1948 recipe from ''The Fine Art of Mixing Drinks'' replaced the Bénédictine with Drambuie (Scotch whisky) and bitters.
