Bnei Herzliya Basket
Bnei Herzliya Basket (, lit. ''Sons of Herzliya''), is a professional basketball club that is based in Herzliya, in the Sharon district in Israel. The club plays in the Israeli Basketball Premier League, the top division of Israeli basketball. It has won the Israeli State Cup twice, most recently in 2022. This season the club will also play in the Basketball Champions League (BCL), one of Europe's largest international competitions. History The club was originally founded in 1985, under the name Hapoel Herzliya. In 2002, the club merged with Maccabi Ra'anana in a neighboring town, and was re-named Bnei HaSharon. The merger was entered into because of Maccabi Ra'anana's financial problems and Bnei HaSharon's relegation from the top-level Israeli Basketball Premier League, following the 2001–02 season. Ligat HaAl ( he, ליגת העל, lit., ''Supreme League or Premier League''), or the Israeli Basketball Premier League, is the top-tier level league of professional competition in Israeli club basketball, making it Israel's primary basketball competition. 2009–10 Israeli Basketball Super League
The 2009–2010 Israeli Basketball Super League (Also known as Ligat Winner) was the 56th season of the top basketball league in Israel. The season began on 24 October 2009. The final four event was played on 25–27 May 2010. Gilboa/Galil won its second Israeli championship. Format Each out of the 12 participating teams played 22 regular league games, one home game and one away game against each other team. The top eight teams qualified to the playoff, where they play best-of-5 series decided by the rankings at the end of the regular season (first against eighth, second against seventh and so on). The four last ranked team competed in a best-of-5 series relegation playoff (9th VS 12th, 10th VS 11th) and the two losers were relegated to Liga Leumit 2010–11. Liga Leumit (basketball)
Liga Leumit ( he, ליגה לאומית, lit. ''National League'') is the second tier level league of basketball competition in Israel. It is the league level that is below the first tier Israeli Premier League. League system The league contains 15 clubs that compete in a home-and-away round-robin. At the end of the season, the top eight clubs advance to the play-offs. The first round is played on a best-of-three basis. The four winning clubs advance to two best-of-five playoffs, the winners of which are promoted to the Super League. The two teams that finish at the bottom of the table are relegated to Liga Artzit. The 2018–19 Israeli Basketball Premier League, for sponsorship reasons Ligat Winner, is the 65th season of the Israeli Basketball Premier League. Maccabi Tel Aviv is the defending champion. The 2017–18 FIBA Europe Cup was the third season of the FIBA Europe Cup, a European professional basketball competition for clubs that was launched by FIBA. The competition began on 20 September 2017, with the qualifying rounds, and concluded with the second leg of the final on 2 May 2018. The 2016–17 FIBA Europe Cup was the 2nd season of the FIBA Europe Cup, a European basketball club competition organised by FIBA Europe. The 2015–2016 Israeli Basketball Super League was the 62nd season of the Israeli Basketball Super League. The regular season started on October 11, 2015 and ended on March 6, 2016. The last game was played on June 9, 2016. This season, the league had a different format. The season began on October 12, 2014 and ended on June 25, 2014.
