2009–10 Israeli Basketball Super League
The 2009–2010 Israeli Basketball Super League (Also known as Ligat Winner) was the 56th season of the top basketball league in Israel. The season began on 24 October 2009. The final four event was played on 25–27 May 2010. Gilboa/Galil won its second Israeli championship. Format Each out of the 12 participating teams played 22 regular league games, one home game and one away game against each other team. The top eight teams qualified to the playoff, where they play best-of-5 series decided by the rankings at the end of the regular season (first against eighth, second against seventh and so on). The four last ranked team competed in a best-of-5 series relegation playoff (9th VS 12th, 10th VS 11th) and the two losers were relegated to Liga Leumit 2010–11. Ligat HaAl ( he, ליגת העל, lit., ''Supreme League or Premier League''), or the Israeli Basketball Premier League, is the top-tier level league of professional competition in Israeli club basketball, making it Israel's primary basketball competition. The league's name is abbreviated as either BSL (Basketball Super League) or ISBL (Israeli Basketball Super League). For sponsorship reasons, the league is also referred to as Ligat Winner Sal ( he, ליגת ווינר סל), lit. Euroleague 2010–11 Qualifying Rounds
This page describes the qualifying rounds for the Turkish Airlines Euroleague 2010–11. The qualifying rounds consisted of three rounds, played in home and away series. Teams ;Notes Draw The draw was made on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Barcelona, Spain. The draw began at 11:15 local time ( CET) and determined the qualifying-round matchups and regular-season groups for the Euroleague, as well as the qualifying rounds for the Eurocup and the regular-season for the EuroChallenge. Teams were organised into four pots of four teams. Teams of pot 1 faced teams of pot 4, while teams from pots 2 and 3 faced each other. Bracket The higher ranked team hosted the second leg. Winner Cup 2009
Winner Cup 2009 was the 4th edition of the Israeli basketball pre-season tournament Winner Cup. It was played between October 4 and October 8 in Jerusalem at the Malha Arena, during the Jewish holiday of Sukkot. Hapoel Jerusalem has won the cup after defeating Maccabi Tel Aviv 86-80 in the final. MVP was Tre Simmons (Hapoel Jerusalem). 2009–10 Israeli Basketball State Cup
The 2009–10 Israeli Basketball State Cup was the 50th edition of the Israeli Basketball State Cup, organized by the Israel Basketball Association. 26 teams participated in the competition. The semifinals and finals was played at the Yad Eliyahu Arena in Tel Aviv. Preliminary round 4 Liga Leumit teams have been drawn to play a preliminary round to earn a spot in the main draw. Main draw Following IBA's rules, the current champions, Maccabi Tel Aviv, and the cup holders, Hapoel Holon, have been drawn straight into the quarterfinals, into different halves of the draw. Two other random teams, Hapoel Jerusalem and Maccabi Haifa, have been drawn straight into the second round. Overtime (sports)
Overtime or extra time is an additional period of play specified under the rules of a sport to bring a game to a decision and avoid declaring the match a tie or draw where the scores are the same. In some sports, this extra period is played only if the game is required to have a clear winner, as in single-elimination tournaments where only one team or players can advance to the next round or win the tournament. Hapoel Holon Basketball Club ( he, מועדון הכדורסל הפועל חולון), known for sponsorship reasons as Hapoel Atsmon Playgrounds Holon (), is a professional basketball club based in Holon, Israel. The team plays in the Israeli Basketball Premier League (the top tier of Israeli basketball), and internationally in the Basketball Champions League. Maccabi Ironi Ramat Gan ( he, מכבי עירוני רמת גן, formerly Ironi Ramat Gan) is a male basketball club based in Ramat Gan in central Israel. Bnei Herzliya Basket (, lit. ''Sons of Herzliya''), is a professional basketball club that is based in Herzliya, in the Sharon district in Israel. The club plays in the Israeli Basketball Premier League, the top division of Israeli basketball. It has won the Israeli State Cup twice, most recently in 2022.
