Blue Rock (album)
''Blue Rock'' is the third and final album released by The Cross. Like '' Mad, Bad and Dangerous to Know'', ''Blue Rock'' is a straight rock album which is currently out of print and has become a hard-to-find item. Spike Edney contributed a lot more to the record, writing or co-writing seven of the ten tracks of the album. Because of the failure of their previous albums, ''Blue Rock'' was only released in Germany, Japan, Italy (vinyl only) and France (cassette only). ''Blue Rock'', too, failed to sell many copies. The Cross (band)
The Cross were an English rock band formed in 1987 by Queen drummer Roger Taylor. They released three studio albums before splitting up in 1993. In contrast to Queen and other outside projects, Taylor fronted the band and played rhythm guitar instead of drums. On their debut album, which was mostly recorded by Taylor before recruiting the rest of the band, they incorporated dance influences (similar to Queen's 1982 album ''Hot Space'') which were dropped on subsequent albums. History Taylor formed the Cross while Queen were on break after the Magic Tour in mid 1987. He recruited Queen's tour keyboardist, Spike Edney, but advertised for the remaining musicians who were, when the band was formed, guitarist Clayton Moss, bassist Peter Noone, and drummer Josh Macrae. Electrola
Electrola is a German record label and subsidiary of Universal Music Group. Based in Munich, its roster has included Chumbawamba, Matthias Reim, Helene Fischer, Brings, Höhner and Santiano. History On 8 May 1925 the British Gramophone Company founded Electrola GmbH in Nowawes near Berlin and received its record licence in December. In March 1931, through its parent company's merger with Lindström's parent Columbia Gramophone Company to form EMI, Electrola thus became the merged entity's German subsidiary. ''Mad, Bad and Dangerous to Know'' is the second studio album by The Cross, released in 1990. In contrast to debut '' Shove It'', the album is a rock album and is a more collaborate effort with each band member contributing to the songwriting. Guitarist Clayton Moss sings lead vocals on "Better Things". It has been suggested that Roger Taylor contributed less to this album as he was busy promoting the Queen album '' The Miracle''. Following poor sales in the UK, the band were dropped by EMI. It catalogs more than three million album entries and 30 million tracks, as well as information on musicians and bands. Spike Edney
Philip "Spike" Edney (born 11 December 1951) is an English musician who, since the 1960s, has performed with a number of bands, most notably with Queen in their live concerts, where his participation started in 1984 during Queen's The Works tour. During the mid-1970s, he recorded and toured with The Tymes and Ben E. King. He is primarily known for playing keyboards but also plays bass, guitar, trombone and contributes backing vocals. Subsequently, in the late 1970s, he was musical director for Edwin Starr and, during the early 1980s, worked with Duran Duran, The Boomtown Rats, Dexys Midnight Runners, Bucks Fizz, Haircut One Hundred and The Rolling Stones. He also appeared with Peter Green on his comeback tour. Edney's collaboration with Queen included mostly keyboards (his main instrument), plus rhythm guitar and backing vocals. Josh Macrae
Joshua J Macrae (born 1964 in Tel Aviv, Israel) is an English drummer, audio engineer and record producer. Starting with a snare drum & hi hat in Primrose Hill Primary orchestra then from school punk band in Cornwall "Inconvenience" he left school & toured Europe with local band "Metro Glider". Upon return he moved to Bath & became a founder member of "Still Life", later renamed "Wadi Vision", show casing at The Embassy Club & doing a "Live In Maida Vale" Radio One session For Bruno Brooks. With the demise of "Wadi Vision" he played various sessions, did a short promotional tour of Europe with Spandau Ballet standing in for John Keeble who remained home with his expectant wife. In '87, answering an advert in the back of The Melody Maker, he landed the drum throne in Roger Taylor's band The Cross. and went on to co-produce all of Taylor's solo albums from 1992 on, played drums at Roger Taylor's solo concerts and works with Queen in the studio from 1992. Roger Meddows Taylor (born 26 July 1949) is an English musician, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and the drummer for the rock band Queen. As a drummer, Taylor was recognised early in his career for his unique sound''Rolling Stone'' – Issue 149 – 12 June 1973 and was voted the eighth-greatest drummer in classic rock music history in a listener poll conducted by Planet Rock in 2005. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001 as a member of Queen. Clayton D. Moss (born 25 June 1980) is an Australian actor and writer, born in Sydney, Australia. Acting career Television Clayton's television credits include episodes of '' All Saints'' (2008), ''Underbelly'' (2009), and '' Rescue: Special Ops'' (2010). Film Clay made his feature film debut in 2011 with Dealing with Destiny alongside Luke Arnold and Emma Leonard. In a review for the film, Filmink magazine noted him as one of "Australia's emerging acting talent". Theater Clayton performed at Belvoir St. Downstairs Theater for the play ''MATE''.
