Blackwater Township is one of fourteen townships in Cooper County, Missouri, USA. As of the 2000 census, its population was 406. The township takes its name from Blackwater River. A civil township is a widely used unit of local government in the United States that is subordinate to a county, most often in the northern and midwestern parts of the country. Shackleford Crossing, Missouri
Shackleford is a village and civil parish in the Borough of Guildford, Surrey, England centred to the west of the A3 between Guildford and Petersfield southwest of London and southwest of Guildford. Shackleford includes the localities of Eashing, Hurtmore, Norney and Gatwick. History The village does not appear in the Domesday Book of 1086; however, Hurtmore manor in the east of the parish and Rodsall manor, just to the west of the parish, a far-south part of Puttenham, do appear. The name first appears in 1220, as ''Sakelesford'', and appears in a variety of mostly quite minor variants thereafter. The second element, ''-ford'', is self-explanatory, but the etymology of the "Shackle-" element is uncertain. US 40
U.S. Route 40 or U.S. Highway 40 (US 40), also known as the Main Street of America, is a major east–west United States Highway traveling across the United States from the Mountain States to the Mid-Atlantic States. As with most routes whose numbers end in a zero, US 40 once traversed the entire United States. Interstate 70 (Missouri)
Interstate 70 (I-70) in the US state of Missouri is generally parallel to the Missouri River. This section of the transcontinental Interstate begins at the Kansas state line on the Lewis and Clark Viaduct, running concurrently with U.S. Route 24 (US 24), US 40, and US 169, and the east end is on the Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge in St. Louis. Route description Crossing into Missouri on the Lewis and Clark Viaduct, I-70 immediately encounters the Alphabet Loop, a small but complex loop of freeways with all of its exits having the number 2 and a letter suffix that uses the entire alphabet (except I, O, and Z). Blackwater, Missouri
Blackwater is a city in northwest Cooper County, Missouri, United States located along the Blackwater River, from which it takes its name. The population was 162 at the 2010 census. Many parts of Blackwater's commercial and residential districts are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
