Blackfield I
''Blackfield'' is the debut album by the art rock band Blackfield, released on the Snapper Music/ Helicon labels in February 2004. The album was re-released in August of the same year with an additional three-track bonus disc, followed by a later pressing that contains the album and the three bonus tracks all on one CD. Two songs are covers in English of earlier Aviv Geffen songs in Hebrew, "Cloudy Now" () from 1993 and "Scars" () from 2000. In the latter case, Aviv's original studio recording was simply reused with newly sung vocals. Four singles were released from the album: "Hello", "Pain", "Blackfield" and "Cloudy Now". Blackfield II
''Blackfield II'' is the second studio album by Blackfield. It was recorded in both Tel Aviv and London, and was released on 13 February 2007 in Europe and 6 March 2007 in the US. We Put Out Records launched media siterelating to the US release of this record. "End of the World" is a cover of an older song in Hebrew, performed by Geffen and Berry Sakharof. Hebrew versions of "1,000 People" and "Epidemic" were included in Geffen's album from 2006, " Im Hazman". A demo version of "Where Is My Love?" was released on the bonus disc of the limited edition of Blackfield's first album. "Christenings" was originally written for Porcupine Tree's 2005 album ''Deadwing'' but was never released. Richard Barbieri and Gavin Harrison are both featured on this track. Blackfield Albums
Blackfield is a collaborative music project by the English musician and founder of Porcupine Tree, Steven Wilson, and Israeli rock singer Aviv Geffen. Together, six albums have been released under the moniker. The first two records, ''Blackfield'' and ''Blackfield II,'' saw Geffen and Wilson working together as equal partners, while the third and fourth, '' Welcome to my DNA'' and ''Blackfield IV,'' saw Geffen take on a leading role, writing all but one track across both albums and providing a significantly increased share of lead vocals. Despite initially announcing his intention to leave the project in 2014, Wilson instead worked again as an equal partner on a fifth album, ''Blackfield V'', which was released on 10 February 2017. Lasse Hoile
Lasse Hoile (born 1973 in Aarhus, Denmark) is a Danish artist, photographer and filmmaker. He has collaborated with musician Steven Wilson and his projects Porcupine Tree and Blackfield. He has also designed live visuals for US progressive metal band Dream Theater. In the mid-1990s he was the vocalist for Danish death metal band Panzerchrist. Hoile started working as an editor and producing short films in 1993. Five years later in 1998, he took up photography as a hobby. Since then, he has worked on documentaries, commercials, and short films. Hoile directed videos and creating a number of album sleeves for Porcupine Tree following the release of ''In Absentia'' in 2002. Later in 2005, he directed the recording of Porcupine Tree's first live performance DVD '' Arriving Somewhere...'', which took place at Park West, Chicago. Gavin Harrison
Gavin Richard Harrison (born 28 May 1963) is an English musician. He is best known for playing with the progressive rock bands Porcupine Tree (2002–2010; 2021–present), King Crimson (2008, and 2014–present) and The Pineapple Thief (2016–present). Harrison's drumming has received many awards from music publications and earned praise from other musicians. Career Gavin started to work professionally in 1979. Chris Maitland
Chris Maitland (born 13 May 1964) is an English drummer. Maitland was born in Cambridge, England. After being the drummer for No-Man on their Autumn 1993 tour (and playing on two tracks on their ''Flowermouth'' album), Maitland was asked by the band's Steven Wilson to join his other main project, the progressive rock band Porcupine Tree. He remained the band's drummer until February 2002, when he was dismissed and replaced by Gavin Harrison. He played on the debut album by Blackfield in 2003, sharing drumming duties with Gavin Harrison. Harrison has described Maitland as a great drummer. Between 2004 and 2005, Maitland was a member of the progressive rock supergroup Kino. The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. It is a plucked string instrument similar in appearance and construction to an electric or an acoustic guitar, but with a longer neck and scale length, and typically four to six strings or courses. The piano is a stringed keyboard instrument in which the strings are struck by wooden hammers that are coated with a softer material (modern hammers are covered with dense wool felt; some early pianos used leather). Daniel Salomon (musician)
Daniel Salomon ( he, דניאל סלומון) is an Israeli pop rock singer and musician. Biography Daniel Salomon was born and raised in Haifa. Salomon has been playing the piano since the age of six and began writing music at age 12. He studied composition and orchestral arrangements with Prof. Isaac Sadai. Music career At the age of 25, he started his professional career with Israeli rocker, Aviv Geffen, serving as Geffen's piano player and as the orchestral arranger on Geffen's albums. Later on, he joined Blackfield, led by Geffen and Steven Wilson.
